“He’s a client of mine why?”
“Then I have you to blame for my staff forgetting to do their damn jobs. He’s lucky he’s so damn hot, or I’d of kicked his ass out of here,” Evans said while walking to the door. “I’ll tell your family to come up, they can only stay for a few minutes. I want you to get some rest. And don’t worry, Alphonso, Jacqui’s has no idea he’s around shifters.”
“Wow, now you sound like you care about me,” Sirius joked.
“I care about all my patients, even the ones that are a pain in my ass.” He went to open the door, but Sirius stopped him.
“Hey,” he said getting Evans attention. “Thanks, I mean it. Thank you.”
“That’s what friends are for.”
“Hey, if you’re not up to seeing everyone, I can tell them to go home, and we’ll deal with it tomorrow.”
“No, I’m sure your uncle has questions, and I have a few of my own.”
“Okay,” Alphonso stood and kissed him quickly. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Before he got the chance to walk over to the door, it burst open and everyone filled into the room, Rosemary walked over to Sirius and hugged him then pulled back and cupped his cheeks.
“So, I hear I’m going to be a great grandmother.”
“Yes, ma’am,” Sirius answered.
“Well, let me say thank you and congratulations!”

Sirius laughedand took another bite of his sandwich watching Tamia scowl and covered her cookies hiding them from father so that he wouldn’t try to steal one. He’d gotten home from the hospital earlier that morning, and as if knowing that something was wrong, Tamia hadn’t left his side. Honestly, Sirius enjoyed it. He’d missed the little one who had captured his heart. He’d told LaMarkus everything he remembered before waking up in the hospital.
There wasn’t much the man could do when there wasn’t any evidence left at the scene. For now, Sirius had to be careful and watch his back. As with his hotel room, the entire Vale family was in attendance along with Jacqui’s, Bedwyr, Nicholas, and Naheem.
“No, daddy, my cookies,” Tamia told Alphonso. “You can’t have any.”
“Not even one?”
“No, you haf’ta get your own.”
“Like father like daughter.”
The adults in the kitchen gasped and turned around to see two handsome men staring at them. Both men had striking green eyes, while one had short, dark curly hair and was tall and muscular like Alphonso and LaMarkus. The other had long blond hair, he was also a bit shorter with a lithe, compact body. Even without knowing their names Sirius could tell that one was a Vale. Rosemary stood to her feet and on shaky legs walked over to them.
“Hey, mom,” the taller one whispered when she got closer. Instead of answering Rosemary pulled him into a hug and started crying.
“I’m so sorry,” she chanted. “I shouldn’t have blamed you. I was so wrong, please, son, forgive me.”
“There’s nothing to forgive,” he said wrapping her up in his arms. “I’m sorry I didn’t come home sooner. I play the night over and over in my head. I should have been with Dad…”
“No,” she said pulling back, looking him in his face. “As much as it hurts to say this, there was nothing either one of us could have done. If you were with him, I could have lost you both that night. It practically killed me to lose your father, but I wouldn’t have survived if I lost you too.”
Sirius watched Alphonso’s father Kayne hold onto Rosemary with tears staining his cheeks. He looked at Bedwyr and wondered what their relationship would have been like had his mother not left Vale Valley. He touched his flat stomach, realizing he’d be able to experience things with his child that Bedwyr had never gotten the chance to do. He hadn’t given Bedwyr a chance to be a father to him since finding out their connection.
Reaching over he tapped Bedwyr on his shoulder and tilted his head to the side for the man to follow him. Getting up he walked into the other room where they would have some privacy.
“What’s up?” Bedwyr asked him. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Yeah.” Sirius smiled. “I’m feeling fine. I was just wondering, would you like to coffee? Say once a week? I know you’re busy and have a lot to do with the coven. I’ll understand if you can’t do once a week.”
“Sirius, you are my son, and I’ll make all the time needed for us to get to know each other.” Bedwyr stepped closer to Sirius and cupped his cheeks. “I’ve missed you so much.” He pulled Sirius into his arms and kissed the top of his head. “The last time I got to hold you in my arms was when you were a baby. Now you’re all grown up, but to me, you’ll always be the baby that would be happy to see me.”
Sirius smiled, he’d like to hear more but knew they had to go back into the kitchen, but he wanted to be held by his father a bit longer.
