“You’re a scary woman when you have a plan stuck in your head.”

She smirked, and it looked more like the Cheshire cat’s grin.

Yup, scary.

A coupleof days later Sirius pulled up to the address Alphonso texted him and wasn’t sure what the hell he was looking at. It was supposed to be a two-story, five-bedroom, three bathrooms. But what he was looking at resembled a house that needed to be demolished. rom the missing windows to the second-floor porch railing which looked as if it was hanging on for dear life, Sirius wasn't sure what led his alpha mate to the house.

The place was maybe a thirty-minute drive from the busy town and had tall trees surrounding it. Sighing Sirius got out of his car and walked up to the porch steps and looked down noticing that some of the wood was missing.

“Hey, you made it.” He raised his head when he heard Alphonso’s voice. “Come around back, I promise this is the worst of it.”

“I’m not so sure about that,” Sirius said.

“Trust me.” Alphonso chuckled.

Sirius followed the trail that led to the back of the house and stopped when he saw the expansive backyard that could use some tender loving care. The wooden fence blocked off the tall trees, and Sirius could see the appeal to the back of the house, but he was still unsure about the inside.

“Beautiful isn’t it?” Alphonso’s voice whispered in his ear. Sirius nodded. “I see summer nights of you and me sitting on the back porch, and we are watching the sun setting and me making love to you.”

“All right you sold me on the backyard, but I think you will have a harder time with the inside,” he said looking over his shoulder to his mate.

“I’m sure once you see it, you’ll change your mind.” He followed Alphonso inside of the house, silently they toured each room that was spacious but was dulled from years of not being used. Just like the outside, Sirius could once again see the appeal to the house. From the kitchen to the living room, it would need to be renovated if they decided to buy it.

One thing Sirius noticed about the house was the fine antique details that seemed as if they were cared for better than the rest of the house. From the hardwood floors, and the decorative wrought iron railing on the staircase leading to the second floor that he would defiantly want to keep. Those details brought a certain beauty to the house. When they entered what he assumed was the master bedroom he walked into the bathroom and stopped seeing the large gold bear claw bathtub. He could imagine nights with him and Alphonso soaking in the tub together, making love.

Shit now all I can think about is having sex with Alphonso in every part of the house.

“So, what do you think?”

“I honestly thought I would run away screaming, but I like it.”

“Really?”

Sirius turned hearing the happiness in Alphonso’s voice.

“Yes, really.” He smiled. “I can see us building a family here. There’s also enough room to add on if we want to. You’ll be setting up your office here and for when we have guests over.”

“You don’t know how happy I am to hear that.”

Alphonso leaned down and kissed him deeply causing Sirius to moan, happy that they were the only ones there.

“There’s something I need to tell you before we sign on the dotted line,” Alphonso said once they separated from their kiss.

“What? Don’t tell me I missed the gaping hole in the living room and it’s going to swallow us into the vortex of hell?”

“Nothing that crazy,” Alphonso said tilting his head. “Where the hell did you come up with that one?”

Sirius shrugged a shoulder. “I don’t know it just popped into my head. So, what is it?”

“He’s trying to prepare you for me.”

Sirius turned when he heard a posh British accent and almost gasped when he realized he was standing in front of a ghost. Her clothing resembled that of the 1900s, and he wondered if was offending her by staring her with shock written all over his face. She couldn’t have been dead that long, right? She wasn’t pasty, but he could see right through her.

“You’re a ghost,” he said before his words could catch up with his brain.

“That’s obvious,” she said rolling her eyes. “I’m certain I am not the first ghost you’ve seen around Vale Valley.”
