Chapter Nine
Alphonso
Alphonso glared at his grandmother, and he was not happy with her.
He knew behind her showing up to Sirius’ room was a good intention, but he didn’t have a good feeling about what was about to go down. Taking her by the arm, he pulled her to the other side of the room to find out exactly what the hell was going on.
“What the hell, Nana? You didn’t have to ambush Sirius like this.”
“It’s a complicated situation, but the short story is, Bedwyr is that young man’s father.” She was looking at Sirius and Bedwyr who weren’t talking but staring at each other. “And he’s been looking for him since the day he and his mother went missing.”
“What?”
“We aren’t sure what really happened, but he was taken away from him when he was only a year old.”
“Are you saying Sirius was kidnapped by his own mother?”
“Something like that. Like I said it’s a bit complicated.” She turned and looked at Alphonso. “So, he’s your mate?”
“Yes,” he answered. There wasn’t a reason for him to hide it, the room probably smelled of their arousal.
“Good for you, grandson, I’m happy for you.”
“You know you could have called Sirius, before showing up on his doorsteps,” Alphonso chastised her.
“And exactly how would that conversation go? Your father’s been looking for you for twenty-five years…”
“I get it that it’s not an easy conversation to have, but you could have found a better way.”
“I know, it’s just Bedwyr’s been looking for his son for so long I just wanted to do something nice for my friend.”
She still had a worried expression on her face, and Alphonso could see why, they were just standing in the same spot. He needed to find a way to fix it for his mate. Leaving his grandmother’s side, he went and stood next to Sirius.
“Hey, Bedwyr, do you mind taking my grandmother down to the restaurant and get us a table? I need a few minutes alone with my mate.”
Bedwyr gasped. “You’re mated?” he asked looking at Sirius.
“It’s new,” Sirius answered speaking for the first time.
“Oh,” Bedwyr said looking down.
“Come on, Bedwyr, let’s do what Alphonso said. I should have thought things through before coming out here.”
Rosemary walked over and pulled the coven leader out of the door, and Alphonso waited for the door to close before turning to Sirius.
“I have no idea what you’re thinking right now.”
“I keep thinking what the ever-loving fuck. My mother had a mate, and he’s my father. A father I never cared about meeting. I mean, should I care that he suddenly showed up in my life?”
“You could at least sit and talk to him and see what happened. According to my grandmother, you were kidnapped.”
“Kidnapped?”
“Yeah,” Alphonso sighed. “Or that’s the impression everyone had.”
“Well shit. I’m getting that feeling again.”
“What feeling?”
