“Stop being an adult for once,” Lucas said beside him.

He turned and looked at Lucas who was vibrating with a childish energy. It’s a wonder he’s keeping himself still.“We could have brought Zoi with us.”

“Nope, this is for us, I want to drink beer and ride the scariest roller coaster so that I can scream my head off.”

He stared at him, and he realized the energy that he felt coming off him was Lucas finally being able to let go and not worry about anything for a bit. Tucker figured he could at least give that to Lucas.

“All right, let’s go.” Tucker sighed and turned off the car before getting out and tucked his keys in his pockets. Lucas whooped as he got out of the car.

“My brothers and I used to come here a lot growing up, and it’s been a while.” Lucas joined him in front of the car, and they started walking towards the beach.

“Okay, since this was your idea, I’ll let you take the lead. I'm giving you full control, tonight,” Tucker told him.

“Are you sure you want to give me full control?” Lucas looked at him, and Tucker couldn’t help but wonder if there was a hidden meaning behind the question.

Tucker licked his suddenly dry lips and smiled. “As long as you’re gentle with me, I’ll let you have all the control you want.”

Lucas smiled, and his green eyes sparkled with mischief. “It depends on your definition of gentle.”

Tucker stumbled on hisnext step but recovered quickly hearing Lucas' chuckle as he walked ahead of him. His eyes were eating up Lucas’ jean-clad legs and praying to the gods he didn’t embarrass himself again.

The rest of the night progressed smoothly, and Tucker secretly admitted he was having fun. They’d gone on all the death-defying rides that Lucas dragged him on. He ate fully loaded hot dogs and drank a couple of beers. Tucker had switched to drinking water after his first drink. Theme park dinner wasn’t what he had in mind, but to see and hear Lucas’ boisterous laughter filled him with more joy than he’d thought possible.

“You know what I realize about you?” Lucas asked him.

Tucker looked over at him. Lucas wore a happy grin on his face and was probably smashed. “What’s that?”

“You’re not much of a talker,” he said. “I thought you were just like that with strangers, but I think that’s what I like about you. You, Tucker, make me feel comfortable to be myself.”

“I doubt you could be anything but yourself.” He smiled when Lucas snorted. Lucas stopped walking causing Tucker to do the same and stood in front of him, staring in his face. “See something you like?” he asked raising an eyebrow.

“I do,” Lucas mumbled and stepped closer.

Tucker sucked in a breath, holding it and waited to see what the other man was going to do. Lucas reached up with one hand to touch his face and then put his hand back down to his side as if realizing what he was about to do. Lucas cleared his throat and took a step back.

“Come, I want to get on two more rides before we head home for the night,” he said turning around and started walking towards the boardwalk. Tucker couldn’t move. What was he going to do?Tucker didn’t know, but he knew for sure that whatever Lucas wanted he would have given it to him.
