Dead.
Kolvin looked like the walking dead.He no longer held onto hope that they would find a way out of this.
Marcin had to maintain that hope for his friends. They would get out of this, but how, he could not imagine.
He felt that he had to hold onto the idea.
He glanced over his shoulder and saw more guards struggle with Solkan.
"Move it, Solkan!"
Solkan was left in a solitary, enforced cell for a reason.
A growl emerged from inside the cell.
Solkan would not do anything for them without a fight. Not now, not ever.
One of the reasons they kept him more isolated than anyone else.
At least Marcin and Kolvin could see one another.
Solkan, all they had was noise, if he even made any sounds.Solkan was stronger than Marcin or Kolvin.
One of the guards flew out of the cell and hit the metal ground hard.
Marcin smirked.
One of the guards hit him for his smirk.
Marcin narrowed his gaze on the guard.
The guard flinched before Marcin did.
Very rarely were all three of them pulled from their cells at the same time.Something was going on, and Marcin wanted to know what it was more than he wanted retribution for the strike.
If he went after true, balanced retribution, none of these guards would live more than a minute or two because of the last five years of pain and suffering they had inflicted on him and his friends.
Solkan finally came out, restrained with shock braces on either side.Solkan jerked but it wasn't enough to break the hold.
It was enough to startle the guards.
That did amuse Marcin. He met Solkan's gaze.
The Rhimodian nodded slightly, enough that Marcin knew he was amused by what he did as well.
When they were lined up, the guards led them out of the cell area.
They reached the turn where they went for testing.
Today, though, they were led the other way, to the round exit door.
The one that led to the vacuum of space.
The air lock had been a threat used to keep them pacified for the last five years.
Had the Terran Empire decided to jettison them out into space, finally, as promised? The threat had been hanging over their heads since the first day, but it was not something that Marcin had believed was a reality--it was too simple of a threat.
It could not have been what truly would happen.
