“I think we need to give him some lessons. Dating 101,” Noah says. “I didn’t realize you were in such dire straits, Nicky.”

“Dating 101?” I scoff. “I don’t want dating advice from you guys.”

“You clearly need it,” Cash says, agreeing with Noah. “Piper and Angie won’t have any friends left at the rate you’re going through them.”

“What do you think Dating 101 would look like for him?” Troy asks.

The three of them go off on a tangent that I can’t help but laugh at.

Dating 101? If only they knew…

Whatever these three think they could drum up wouldn’t hold a candle to lessons with Bex.

Thinking about her has a smile fighting to break out onto my face. I don’t want to give these guys anything.

Right now, this thing with Bex is between the two of us. I have no idea how I would even begin to tell them that I’m dating her.

They’d probably think I was lying, if I’m being perfectly honest.

“Why don’t you seem as upset as the last time?” Cash asks, breaking through my thoughts.

“Because I’m not,” I state matter-of-factly. “It didn’t go well. What’s the point in getting upset about it? She said there was someone else.”

“Okay, Angie is off the list for setting him up,” Noah tells Troy. “I think I might know someone.”

“Or none of you can find someone for me. You all clearly suck at this.”

“Don’t I get a try?” Noah asks, playfulness lacing his voice. “You would deny your best friend the chance to find you true love?”

I roll my eyes at that as Cash scoffs.

“What about Piper?” Cash asks. “They are besties too.”

“Piper set him up with the influencer, remember?” Noah tells him. “It did not go well.”

The whistle blows—thank God—starting practice again.

“I’ve got someone,” Noah says before he skates away.

I laugh, shaking my head as the goalies coach skates over to work on drills. I love that the guys went all in with trying to set me up with someone, but how do I tell them I no longer need their help?

Sure, I have no idea where this thing with Bex will go—is itjusthooking up? Or more?

I push all those thoughts out of my head as I practice my legwork. Getting knocked down and bouncing back up is key as a goalie. Even if my knees are going to be screaming at me by the end of the day.

It at least gets the guys off my back for a few hours. As Coach Barney dismisses us in waves, most of the guys are already gone by the time I’m done with practice. It lets me get cleaned up in silence.

No chirping from the guys about needing dating lessons. Or being set up with someone that they know.

Grabbing my bag, I head down the hall toward the players’ parking lot to wait for Noah, who always takes more time cleaning up than most, when a sexy brunette catches my eye.

Bex is coming out of Coach Barney’s office when our gazes lock.

“Hi.”

“Hi,” she says back.

Bex practically glides toward me, and it’s hard not to watch her. The sway of her hips. The way her smile is lighting up her face. The happiness glowing in her eyes.
