“I’m pretty sure that’s something all kids do.” Reagan shifts towards me as I sit down next to her. “But I’m sure you both did it.”

“Kai likes to think he was a good kid. He was a terror.”

“Someone had to make up for all your good behaviour.”

“Yes, because that’s how it always goes with children. One is good and one is bad.” I roll my eyes at Kai as Reagan slaps her hand over my mouth.

“Don’t jinx us. There’s always a good kid and a bad kid. We don’t want a terror our first go, now do we?”

“First go? You planning on doing this again?” Kai waves his fork between us, as we both realize what Reagan said.

“I’m just saying,” Reagan stutters, the panic in her tone obvious, “we want the best kid whenever they get here. Neither of us was expecting this, so we want as easy a transition as possible.”

The look in her eyes is anxious. I’m still wrapping my head around one baby, and she’s thinking multiples?

“Right. Well, if they’re anything like Leo, you’ll be fine. How were you as a baby?” Kai breaks the runaway train of thoughts in my head.

“It sounds like I was more like you as a baby, Kai.” Her smile is hesitant, as if she’s still trying to process what she said too.

“So between the two of us, we’ll have a normal kid, right?” I look her in the eyes, giving her my best playful smile.

“As normal as one can get. Does anyone really want normal these days? Isn’t normal boring?”

“I mean, if we did things the normal way, you wouldn’t be here right now,” I point out.

“We should be thankful, then, that we’re not all that normal.” And the look in her eyes tells me she fully believes it.

“Yes, we should be.”

“Do I need to leave? I feel like I’m interrupting something.” Kai’s voice breaks the haze swirling around us. I don’t look at him but nod my head.

“Yes. You’ve been interrupting us all morning. Now, if you wouldn’t mind, leave.” My voice leaves no room for confusion.

“Right. Reagan, lovely to meet you. I’ll see you later, brother.”

I wave him off, not looking away from the magnetic pull of Reagan’s eyes.

“So, normal, huh?” Reagan stands, walking towards me, the sway in her hips making me hard in an instant.

“Want to see just how normal we are together?” I pull her between my legs, holding her hips.

Reagan’s hands find my hair, grasping the strands tightly. Her lips at my ear make me painfully hard. “I’d prefer you show me all the ways we don’t have to be normal together.”

Fuck me, if this isn’t the only way I want to spend the rest of my days.

Chapter Fourteen

Leo

“How do you feel about going out this afternoon?” Rae is spread out on the couch, book balanced on her stomach. Her bump is just starting to show. It makes me surprisingly protective.

“Depends. What did you have in mind?”

“It’s a surprise.”

“A surprise?” She waggles her eyebrows at me. “Can’t say I’d turn down a surprise. Can I go change?”
