“Jesus.” I glowered at him. The man was beginning to annoy the crap out of me. “Do you intend to follow me around the entire night?”

“If I have to.”

I lifted a brow. “What exactly do you think I am after?”

“You tell me?” He was leaning against the bedpost at the foot of the bed, eyeing me with something akin to suspicion. Again, the notion I knew him made me curious. Where had I seen him before?

“A good night’s sleep,” I stifled a yawn, not interested in correcting any misconceptions he might have.

“So, scoot, or I’ll have to carry you out. Your choice.” He moved closer.

My eyes flared. He wouldn’t dare. “And where do you suppose I sleep. My bed isn’t exactly a workable option,” I gritted through clenched teeth.

His head cocked to one side. “I don’t care, but you’re not sleeping in here.”

“Fine.” I huffed. “Get out, and I’ll move.” It was futile arguing with the idiot who intended to make my night a sleepless one.

“No.”

Throwing aside the covers, I slipped off the bed and reached for my robe. “You’re an ass,” I muttered out loud, yet under my breath, I let loose a string of words that would make a drunken harlot cringe.

“Is your language always that colorful?”

I glanced up from tying the sash and merely cocked a brow, not caring that he heard. “It’s the company,” I replied sweetly. He grinned. I turned my back on him and headed for the door.

“You forgot something.” His amused voice glided through the air.

“Now wh—” I swung around, the word freezing when I eyed his partially raised hand. Slowly my eyes widened in horror as my insides spontaneously combusted in embarrassment. I stared at the eight-inch bright purple vibrator Ruvash had given me as a birthday present after one of our usual arguments about me getting laid.

“I don’t think it works.” Amusement still heavy in his voice, Rayden glanced up from inspecting the device, one side of his mouth quirked up in a grin, his eyes twinkled with delight.

“What?” I neared him and reached out a hand to take it. He pulled back.

“If it worked, you wouldn’t sound so frustrated.”

“Excuse me,” I hissed, annoyed by his playful insult. “Give it to me,” I snapped.

“Oh, baby, I definitely can.” He took a step forward. “Think you can handle the real thing?”

I gawked at him for a moment, then cursing once more, I grabbed the vibrator from his hand and shot out the door, his deep laughter following my hurried gait. Inside my room, I paced the length of the floor. It took me a good couple of minutes to calm down enough to realize I didn’t have a place to sleep. Fisting my palm in agitation, I rolled my shoulders and tried to shove aside his arrogant smirk. I couldn’t sleep in my room, and Neha’s bed wasn’t big enough for the two of us. Who did that ass think he was? What the hell did he hope to achieve? Was he so vain? Maybe he was under the impression I wanted to share Trent’s bed. Gritting my teeth, I paced for the next five minutes.

An abrupt lightbulb moment. I stopped pacing. “Yes!” I snapped my fingers with a little laugh. In the bathroom, I swapped my robe and pj's for an ankle-length, spaghetti-strapped nightie. Throwing my reflection a kiss, I peeked out my room door, stepped out, crossed the landing, and knocked softly.

“Come in.”

I opened the door and braced myself against the frame. Rayden was sitting up in bed. A single light from the bedside lamp cast a glow across his naked, hairless chest. The softness created a tempting picture of masculine sexiness. For the first time in a long while, the tingle between my legs stole my breath. I bit my lip to keep from moaning. His eyes ran the length of my body before coming back to meet mine, his earlier amusement now replaced by bafflement.

“What do you want?” his tone was less than friendly, strained even.

My steps slow, I walked around to the empty side of his bed. “Well, seeing as you can’t exactly keep an eye on me while you’re sleeping and I need a place to sleep, I figured why not kill two birds with one stone.” I lifted my shoulders in a shrug. “I’ll share your bed.”

“What?” His brow shot up. “You can’t sleep here.”

“My, my, such a tease.” I bit back a laugh.

“What?”

“You did offer me thereal thing, didn’t you?” I slid down to the mattress, not missing his flustered intake of breath, and leaned my prone body on one elbow.
