The entire room went so silent that I could’ve heard a pin drop into the ocean behind the building.

Then, Fangs drew in a deep breath. “Fine, if she’s that important to you, then we’ll take care of her like our own.”

Caleb sighed. “Thank you.”

“But,” Fangs said as he placed a finger into the air, “that doesn’t mean you didn’t just add a whole new level of fuckery to this entire situation.”

I nodded. “I know.”

Fangs shot me a look. “You have no fucking clue.”

Caleb stepped in front of me. “You cuss at her one more time and you aren’t gonna like the Reaper you get.”

Viper chuckled. “Nice.”

Caleb pointed back to me. “Now, are we all ready for church? Because everything that just happened at my place, Rose heard. That makes her just as much of a target, engagement or not. They knew she was there, so they know what she looks like. It’ll only be a matter of time before they figure out her name and every-fucking-thing else.”

I hadn’t thought of that, and the thought terrified me so much that I trembled.

“Come here,” the woman who knew my husband said, “let’s get you something to drink.”

“I think all of us could use a drink right now,” another woman said.

“You want them to head into another part of the clubhouse?” Caleb murmured.

“Actually, no,” Fangs said. “I want everyone to be part of this church meeting. We all need to know what we’re up against.”

“This doesn’t happen often, let’s pause the drinks,” the woman said as she slipped her arm through mine.

And as we turned back toward the group of looming men standing near the front door, I watched as they slowly shifted into the kitchen.

Crowding us women while they talked.

“Reaper?” Fangs asked. “You’re the one that gathered us. Start talking.”

Caleb drew in a deep breath. “Rose didn’t feel comfortable at her place after her husband barged in the way he did, so we packed up some of her things and headed to my place. We weren’t there fifteen minutes before those Devil’s Rage motherfucks tried to bang down my door.”

“How many?”

“Four. One of them was named Plank.”

“That squirrely asshole.”

Caleb nodded. “They know where our safehouse is where we’re keeping Harley.”

“Shit.”

“They also know we’ve got Wes, and where.”

“God damn it,” Fangs murmured.

“And they’ve given me two days to return all of their money before they take our women.”

“Wait, what?” I asked.

Fangs held up his hand to me and I wanted to rip it off his body. “Did they specifically say our women?”

Caleb nodded. “Called them out by name and everything.”
