So, I turned and craned my neck back to look up into Bender’s face. “These women are going to be scared. They aren’t going to want anything to do with men right now, even men who are trying to help them. You need a woman to go with you, and you sure as hell aren’t taking my sister. It’ll compromise her place at the women’s shelter. I have to go with you, that’s just how it is right now.”
His gaze danced between my own. “She’s got a point.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Goose asked.
“Fangs,” Bender said as he raised his gaze, “she’s got a point. Even you have to admit that she does.”
I turned to face their president and I saw how unhappy he was. But even still, he nodded. “Are you sure you can convince these women, if we find them, that we’re okay? That we’re good?”
I shrugged. “I can sure as hell do my best.”
Bender snickered behind me. “If there’s anyone that can talk those women into trusting us, it’s her. She could talk the fucking bark off a tree and somehow make the tree grateful for it.”
Fangs grinned at his statement. “Then she rides with us. But don’t stick your nose where it doesn’t belong. Understood?”
I held up my fingers. “Scout’s Honor.”
And as Fangs turned toward the rest of his men, Bender settled his hand onto my shoulder.
Shivering me from head to fucking toe.
“Scorpions?” Fangs asked as he raised his voice. “We ride in ten. Get what you need, load down with ammunition if you must, and meet me outside.”
TWENTY-ONE
BENDER
“You got that helmet on?” I asked.
My headphones came to life in my ear. “Yep, we’re all good back here.”
I revved the engine of my bike. “Then, hold on. We’re about to slip into formation.”
Feeling Aria’s arms wrapped tightly around me stiffened me in ways I didn’t need to be paying attention to. I had no idea what kind of hold she had over me, but I was helpless to her assault. I closed my eyes as her hands splayed along my stomach. She rested her head against the back of my shoulder, buddying her clothed pussy up to my lower back.
“Like this?” she asked with a lilt in her voice.
I cleared my throat. “Perfect.”
The second Fangs pushed off, I fell in line directly to his right, and one by one the guys fell in line two-by-two behind us. We rolled sixty deep, with men coming from every corner of the town as well as the surrounding areas to help us out in our time of need.
I couldn’t wait to empty a few rounds into those disgusting motherfuckers.
The ride was silent. No one said a word, and Aria didn't open her mouth, which was a fucking miracle if I had ever heard of one. That told me that she understood the severity of the situation. That she understood the need for all of us to think through a plan that would get all of us out of there alive.
However, the moment we broached their end of town, Fangs held up his fist.
We all came to a grinding halt before he looked around. Then, he pointed to his helmet. That signaled for all of us to toggled through our Bluetooth helmet settings until we found the group setting that Reaper had to jimmy-rig for us so that we could all communicate as a group during times like this one.
“Raise your hand when you can hear my voice,” Fangs said. “Raise your hand when you can hear me. Raise your hand when you can—”
He eased his bike around and, slowly, all of our hands lifted into the air. I contorted my body so that I could toggle around with Aria’s helmet settings, and after a few clicks her hand raised itself into the air as well. Fangs put his down and drew in a deep breath, sighing into our ears as I turned back around.
Then, he nodded. “We’re going to split up. We’ve got no idea where these women are being held, and we’ve got four city blocks of abandoned buildings to search. We break off into groups of five and each of you take a different building. We’re doing this on foot, so keep your helmets on so that we can all communicate.”
The sea of heads nodded as he pointed to the left.
“We park our bikes in these alleyways. Keep your keys on you so that no one can steal them. Stay alert, stay on your toes, and stay as silent as possible. And if you just so happen to be the group that—”
