“Yes.” Garridan rubbed his face against Sage’s cheek. It reminded Sage of a great big cat and he knew he was trying to rub his scent all over Sage.

“Mmm,” Sage wriggled around on Garridan’s lap, trying to relieve some of the pressure on his cock. God, he could’ve pounded a nail with the thing.

“Are all mated couples like them?” Jules asked.

“You mean, all over each other and practically dry humping on the couch in front of the entire family?” Ladon’s words brought Sage back to reality. He turned his head and hissed at Ladon, because he hated reality. Ladon smirked.

“Yeah,” Jules said.

“Yep. Once they bond, they’ll get some manners, but until then we’re stuck with them acting like horny teenagers,” Ladon said.

Sage buried his face in the crook of Garridan’s neck and then flipped Ladon off from around his back.

Garridan growled again when Jules laughed.

“You two can leave. We’ll fill you in later,” Ramsey said.

Garridan didn’t even wait a second before he lifted Sage. He was at the entrance to the living room when he turned. “Sage isn’t the only one I care about, Lucas. Bennett is my child and you are his mate, which makes you my child too.”

Sage turned to Lucas, whose mouth hung open and he gaped like a fish. He turned back to Garridan, who still scowled. He gave nothing of what he was truly feeling away. Garridan’s expression very rarely changed to anything else but a scowl. If Garridan told someone hecared about them, then his words were true, even if his expression didn’t convey that sentiment. Sage understood Lucas’ surprise.

“I didn’t know you felt that way about me.”

“Well, now you do.” With that, he left the room, heading to their bedroom.

“Am I scaring you?” Garridan asked him.

“Why are you asking me that?” Sage was the furthest thing from scared. He really wanted to rub his cock all over Garridan until he came. Please and thank you.

“I’m holding you tight.”

Sage thought about how he was practically walking on air as Garridan dragged him through the house. “I trust you.”

Garridan shut the door to their bedroom and let go of Sage, taking his hand. “Will you let me bond with you?”

Some of his horniness receded, and for the first time in twenty-four hours, he felt a little bit of panic set in. “I don’t know. I want to. Every instinct in my body tells me to bite you. And I like your body. A lot. Like a lot, a lot. But what if I freak out. What if we do it and then you find out how fucked up I am, but you can’t take it back after.”

“I’ll always want you, even if we never bond,” Garridan said that so matter-of-factly and with such conviction, Sage had no trouble believing him.

“I feel the exact same way about you.”

“We don’t have to do anything at all, Sage.”

“No, I want to. I trust you, I swear. I’m just a nervous wreck for some reason. I think I just don’t want to disappoint you. What if I don’t do it right? What if I suck really bad?”

Garridan’s eyebrows came together. “Why don’t we just kiss? You’re really good at that.”

Sage took a deep breath through his nose and let it out through his mouth. Just kissing he could do, but he wanted so much more.

“Can you…um…take off your shirt first, though?”

Garridan pulled it over his head and then folded it, laying it on the bed. The fact that Garridan was so neat came as a bit of a surprise.

Sage’s teeth dropped. “You have a lot of muscles. And pretty brown skin.”

“I’m not pretty, Sage.”

“Oh yes, you are.” How could someone look like Garridan and not think of themselves as pretty?
