“Rebel told me you got her out of the Pembroke House, Nashville. And everyone knows she’s been driving your car.”

I shake my head. “All this time?”

“I deduced,” he grins but it fades. “Now get your ass to Kentucky and find what I’m looking for.”

It’s not like I can ask Charley to leave, and I don’t want to, but she doesn’t need to hear this call. She doesn’t seem too concerned when I tell her I’m going into the gym for a bit but she is far more intelligent and knowing that most people give her credit for.

My brother picks up after what feels like twenty-seven rings.

“I’m in the middle of something.”

“So why did you answer?”

“Because you wouldn’t fucking hang up. Guess your Prez got hold of you. We’ve got a confirmed sighting on the woman, holding off until you get here. When will that be?”

“Blaze can get me a flight today.”

“Good, I gotta go.”

A woman’s seductive voice in the background makes me cackle. Cam calls me a fucking wanker, a favorite insult of dad’s, and hangs up on me.

Charley is on the phone when I come back out and she frowns, clearly I’ve not been working out. When she hangs up, she doesn’t question me.

“That was Lily, she wants to grab coffee before my shift.”

“Are you good with it?”

“Yeah. You said he was gone.”

“You’ve got nothing to worry about.”

“Okay,” she chews on her lip and stares at my chest.

“Jesus woman,” I go over and grab her ass, pulling her in so I can kiss her. “I’ve unleashed a beast,” I waggle my brows, and she laughs while simultaneously looking grossed out. “Go, have fun. I have to go out of town.”

She pulls back and looks at me.

“Just a couple of days. I’m going to see my brother back home.”

“Oh, is he okay?”

It’s not a lie, technically. Plus, even if she were my Old Lady, which she isn’t, I wouldn’t be able to talk about this shit with her. Remembering Nero throwing my bike keys reminds me that I gave Charley a ride to that house on the back of my bike.

I didn’t think anything of it at the time but shit… Now it's gonna play on my mind.

Did I make some kind of statement doing that? That is the way it will be seen if anyone finds out.

“He’s fine, just haven’t seen him in a while.”

Charley nods. “I guess I’ll see you when you get back.”

“What time are you meeting Lily?”

“An hour,” she runs a hand through her damp hair.

My smirk has her eyes widening. “What are your feelings on simultaneous oral?”

“Is that the polite way of saying a sixty-nine?” she arches her beautiful brow at me.
