“Don’t get in here and be on that bullshit. We got one night with those niggas off our ass. You know they’re watching or have someone watching. Be smart,” I told them.

Quan and Chris waved me off. “Yeah, yeah.”

I grumbled as I got out. “Yeah, yeah, you’re gonna get your ass beat. Better ask Percy.”

Joshua burst into laughter. “Nigga, you fucked up.”

After waiting for what seemed like forever in line, we were finally able to get in. We moved through the crowd to enter the stadium, where it looked like there wasn’t a seat in sight. I walked down close to where Streets was sitting on the side, looking like a sucker. We had seats only a few rows up. The game had already started, and the score was neck and neck, with us losing by a few points. My eyes scanned the area because I still hadn’t spotted Beans or any of the girls.

Moments later, I spotted Percy coming in holding a baby in his arms. When he saw me, he tried looking away, but it was too late. I stood up, put my hands over my mouth, and called out to him. I knew these seats were reserved, but I needed to holla at that nigga asap.

He shook his head and came my way. All the guys stared at him in shock. “This nigga got a baby.”

“Damn!”

They all tried muttering. He sat right beside me as he acted like he was focused on the game.

“How old is she?” I asked.

She was an adorable little girl with large brown eyes, thick, curly black hair, and chubby cheeks. She favored Percy somewhat.

He looked at her while bouncing her on his leg. “She’s one.”

I nodded. “What does this mean for you? I mean, shit, you dropped the line. What about school? Football? I still don’t like you, but damn.”

Percy laughed. “Don’t worry, I don’t like you either.” He shrugged. “Honestly...” He paused as he looked at me.

Before he could speak, the crowd went stupid. We both looked at the court to see that the Blue Hawks had hit a three-pointer. Once the crowd simmered down, he looked at me again.

“I’m going to give her up for adoption. She deserves better, and I can’t give her that. Shit, that nigga Jesaiah kicked me out of his crib. I lost my spot on campus—”

My head shot up when I saw the girls come in with Beans not too far behind them. They held seats two rows from the floor with a row between us. Samara looked good as fuck. She’d straightened her hair and had an orange and black bandanna around it. She wore a black crewneck cut off right above her belly button and a jean skirt that hugged her curves tightly. I watched as she scooted down to get to her seat.

When Beans spotted me, he gave me a slight head nod. That was when I noticed something that made my dick hard and proud at the same time. Samara sat, but not before swinging her hair to one side, purposely exposing the back of her sweater. ‘My Nigga’s A God’ was what it read. She knew I was going to see that shit. Her head turned slowly as she took a peek at me. My lips disappeared between my teeth before I found myself moving my lips.I love you,I mouthed.

I love you way more, she mouthed back, then turned to focus on the game.

I forced myself to pull my eyes away as I focused back on Percy. “Be careful. That nigga is watching you like a hawk.”

“I know. He’s going to get handled. I just need to know where that nigga lays his head. That’s it. You do that for me, I can promise your daughter a healthy, loving home. Plus, you’ll be able to see her. She won’t be too far.”

His head flew back. “Nigga, what? With you? Hell nah!”

I shook my head. “Nah, nigga. I’m not ready for those types of responsibilities yet. I got some other shit I need to do first. Look, if you can hold off for a few more days, I can make it happen. I know a couple who’s looking to adopt. They are great people, ones who mean a lot to me. It’s my older brother and his wife. I can assure you your daughter will have the best life possible.”

I could see he didn’t want to let go but knew he didn’t have a choice if he wanted to continue with school. “Think about it long and hard, then let me know,” I finished.

The people who held seats next to me came up.

“That nigga’s auntie is the dean,” he mumbled and got up.

Now shit made sense. He figured he had a pass and that he couldn’t be touched. I knew it was time to start setting my plan in motion. Jesaiah’s bitch ass was a fucking goner. I glanced back at the court with my wheels turning. I looked at Samara again. I pulled out my phone and sent her a text. When she pulled out her phone and saw it, I turned toward my line brothers.

“Ayo, I gotta piss. Let’s go.”

They looked at me like I was crazy, and I smiled because the truth was... I was.
