“And the nacho cheese?” I ask, hoping he hasn’t forgotten that the only proper way to eat popcorn is by dipping it into the cheesy goodness.
“Of course. Now that you have me hooked on it, I can’t not have it.” He smiles brightly at me as he steps into the living room, two bowls in his hand.
Holden and Roman have spent the last twenty minutes making us a large pallet of pillows on the floor so that we can all lie down together. We decided to have a night in and watch A Game of Thrones. It’s my secret obsession, and oddly, they’ve never seen it before.
Roman sits down first, spreading his legs as he rests his back on the couch. He reaches out for my hand, easing me down between his legs.
“I want you close,” he leans in and whispers, kissing me softly on the crook of my neck.
“Fuck, I’m jealous,” Holden mumbles and I can’t help but blush.
Nash and Holden sit on either side of Roman, all of their scents surrounding and comforting me.
“Before we start, I got a joke.” Nash says boldly, popping a kernel into his mouth, while both of the guys groan.
“Hit me.” I say playfully.
“Why can’t your nose be twelve feet long?” My eyes go wide, fearing this may be more than just a corny joke and maybe more sexual. Nash waits, shifting around to stare at us, waiting for one of us to attempt to answer. “Jeez, you could at least try. But fine. It can’t because if it was, it would be a foot.”
I can’t help it I laugh.
“Don’t placate him River, or he’ll never stop saying them.” Roman pleads.
“Nope, she laughed. I’m a fucking comic genius. I should go on tour. The two of you can stay here while Eden and I live our best lives.” He leans in kissing me softly on my lips, and I freeze. Not because it wasn’t wanted. Because it’s the first time he’s done it. It didn’t make me anxious, just wanting more.
“Okay, let’s get this movie started.” Holden picks up the remote and hits play. Roman pulls me back into his chest, wrapping his arms around my waist. This feels so right. Not rushed, just perfect.
By the third episode, I’ve had my fill of popcorn, and my eyes have started to get heavy. I stretch my legs out, and Nash and Holden take that as the perfect opportunity to find a way to get closer to me.
They each lay down, using my legs as a pillow, as they rub a gentle hand along my legs. My body heats at having all their hands on me and I press my thighs together as my perfumethickens, filling the room. They each let out a low, needy groan. I wait for them to press for more, but they don’t. Instead, they take what I’ve offered happily.
“You smell so good,” Roman whispers as I shift in his arms to look over my shoulder at him. “I still don’t know how we lucked out having you as our Kismet.”
“I don’t either.” Slips softly across my lips.
“I need to use the bathroom, anyone need anything?” Holden asks as he sits up. I’m already missing his contact.
“No thank you.” I tell him, giving him a warm smile.
“Not even ice cream?”
“Rocky Road?” I ask hopefully as he nods in response.
“Then yes.” I quickly tell him.
He goes to the bathroom then brings back a bowl of sweet, cold goodness. I definitely need it to chill the fire burning within me.
We spend the rest of the night watching the show, until finally I can’t keep my eyes open any longer and head to bed. Alone. And hating it.
I don’t know if it’s the bond, or just the utter caring from the guys, but I can’t think of a world without them in it.
And I hope I never do.
Chapter 46
River
I’ve moved my pillows in my nest for the tenth time today, irritated with every arrangement. I have everyone’s shirts spread around me, my nest filled with the scent of chocolate and mint, pineapple and coconut, lime and orange.
