“Please let him know what he’s doing,” she whispered.

She heard the back door open and close. Heard each boot drop in the hall. Then his footsteps, slow and unhurried, coming toward her.

When he appeared in the doorway her breath caught. He crossed the room slowly, eyes never leaving hers, and she couldn’t look away. The man was absolutely lethal.

“Hello, beautiful,” he murmured.

She licked her lips as he closed the distance between them, fingertips grazing her cheekbones before trailing down to her jaw. He cupped her face and kissed her, deep and unhurried, one hand sliding around the back of her neck. She moaned into it, her fingers curling into his shirt.

He broke the kiss just enough to look at her, then moved his hand to cup her breast through the shirt. She gasped.

He stepped back, eyes dark, and unsnapped his jeans without looking away from her. She watched him strip off his shirt and drop it to the floor, and she reached out and raked her nails slowly down his chest, tracing the V that disappeared below his waistband. He hissed in a breath.

Then he grabbed the hem of her shirt and pulled it over her head.

He stepped back and looked at her, taking his time. She stood completely still, feeling nothing but want.

Without a word Cole lifted her onto the bed and settled between her legs. He reached into the nightstand, handed her the condom, then dipped his head and stroked his tongue through her slit. She grabbed fistfuls of his hair as he wound her tighter and tighter, bringing her to the edge but not letting her fall. Not yet.

She reached between them, wrapped her hand around him, heard him groan, then rolled the condom over him. She hooked her legs around his back and arched her hips. He slid into her slowly, inch by inch, and she felt every bit of it.

Then he drove into her hard and she cried out, nails raking his back. He pinned her hands above her head and found his rhythm, deep and relentless, until there was nothing left in the world but the two of them and the heat building between them. When they fell over the edge together, it was with his name on her lips and his groan low against her throat.

Cole raised his head, hair falling across his forehead, and kissed her lips before rolling onto his back and pulling her against his chest.

“Are you alright?” His voice was a low rumble.

“Better than alright.” Her skin still tingled where he’d touched her. “That was amazing.”

He kissed her forehead. “Yes, it was.”

She rolled onto her side and rested her arms onhis chest, feeling his heartbeat gradually slow. “I’ve never felt like that before, Cole. Not once.” Her voice caught slightly. “I was married and apparently I missed out on everything.”

“That wasn’t your fault. He just didn’t know what he had.” His fingers brushed a strand of hair from her cheek. “You’re a very sensual woman.”

“You think so?” She felt heat rise to her cheeks. “I know you have more experience than me. I’d hate to disappoint you.”

“You didn’t.” His thumb traced her bottom lip.

“I talked to Aunt Ping about it once, how something always felt like it was missing with Judd. She said he was just one of those men who was in it for himself.”

“There are a few of those.” His fingers drew lazy patterns on her back. “But it should be good for both people. Always.”

She sighed, feeling the tension ease from her own shoulders. “My first time was in college and neither of us knew what we were doing. It was over before it began most times, and we broke up. We didn’t belong together. With Judd I hoped it would be different.” She covered her face with her hands; fingers cool against her heated skin. “He’d always ask me afterward if it was good for me.”

Cole snorted. She dropped her hands and narrowed her eyes at him. He cleared his throat.

“Sorry. But that question shouldn’t need asking. If you have to ask, the answer’s no.” His voice softened. “Did you ever have an orgasm with either of them?”

“No. So, when I did just now it surprised me.” She bit her lower lip. “I thought it was me.”

“It’s not you.” He pulled her closer, his breath warm against her temple. “Trust me.”

She smiled, then shifted. “I need the bathroom.”

“Me too.” He sat up, gathered his clothes, and walked naked down the hall. She heard the bathroom door close behind him.
