“You knew about this when we went wedding-dressshopping?”
She nods. “Yes. Tristan assigned that job to Maryse andme.”
I look around and do a check in my mind. Every important person in my life and his is here. “You brought everyone we love here to attend ourwedding?”
“There’s no way that we could take this step without the people we love beinghere.”
“I can’t believe that you did all ofthis.”
“I did it because I love you so much, and I don’t want to wait another day to make you mywife.”
I tug on his hands and he stands. Placing my hands on his face, I press a kiss to his mouth. “Let’s doit.”
“I can’t believe it. You’re going to be my wife in two days.” He wraps his arms around me and lifts my feet from the ground, spinning me around just like the day we found out about thebaby.
He lowers my feet to the ground, and I press my mouth to his ear. “Is now the right time to tell everyone about thebaby?”
“I thought you wanted to wait until you made it to the secondtrimester.”
“I did, but everyone is here. I feel like it’s the righttime.”
“You already know that I want to tell the world. I’m just waiting on you to tell me that Ican.”
“I want to tell themnow.”
“Whatever you want, mon bien-aimé.”
I turn to face our friends and family, and Tristan wraps his arms around me from behind, our hands clasped over mystomach.
“As if the proposal and wedding announcement aren’t enough excitement for one day, Tristan and I have some more news to share with you.” I look over my shoulder at him and then back at them. “We are having ababy.”
The next minute consists of a mixture of gasps, gaping mouths, squeals, and clapping, but no one’s reaction is more important to me than my dad’s andNana’s.
Dad comes to me, wrapping his arms around me. “My baby girl is having ababy.”
“Are you happy for us,Dad?”
“I’m happy if you are,baby.”
“I am happy. Very happy. What about you,Nana?”
“You know how much I love babies. And I guarantee that the two of you are going to make one beautiful baby.” A peculiar look comes over her face. “It is just one, right?”
I place my hand over my stomach. “There’s only one baby in here,Nana.”
She hugs me and kisses the side of my face. “I’m happy for you, sweetpea.”
A husband who loves me with all of his heart. His child growing inside of me. A loving group of family and friends surrounding us to witness and support ournuptials.
Is this really my life rightnow?
If it’s a dream, I hope I never wakeup.
