Before Reid can say anything, Carson is back.

“This is for you,” Carson says, holding out a piece of folded clothing.

I open it up and see it’s a jersey. I gasp, tears filling my eyes as I read what's on it. It’s one of their team jerseys, but instead of their numbers, it says number 1, with my name on the top.

“You guys.” My voice shakes as I clutch it to my chest.

“We both wanted you to wear our numbers, but since you can’t wear both at the same time, we designed a custom one made just for you.”

“I love it.” I sniff.

“Here.” Reid helps me put it on. “Perfect. With this and the hoodie, you should stay nice and warm. It can get cold in these places.”

“Addie, this is Milly. She’s someone we hired to look out for you,” Reid says, introducing me to a Beta woman.

“Really?” I laugh. “I’m a big girl. I can take care of myself.”

“We know.” Carson leans down and kisses me. “But we want to make sure that when you’re with us, you’re safe. And we can’t always be there to make sure you’re safe, so we find ways.”

“You’re the best,” I sigh wistfully. “Both of you.”

“We try.” Reid winks, kissing me next.

I watch them walk into the locker room, both of them stopping to wave bye to me. “Good luck!” I call out before they disappear through the door.

Milly brings me to my seat and stays with me. “Do you need anything? Something to eat or drink?”

“No, thank you,” I tell her. “Thanks for this, by the way.”

“Hey, it’s what I’m being paid for.” She laughs.

“Hope you like hockey then.” I laugh.

“It’s okay. The guys are hot, so that's a plus.”

“Couldn’t agree more.”

The game ends, and the Scented Scorpions lose. My heart goes out to them as the other team celebrates, and my guy’s shoulders are slumped in defeat.

Still, they played one hell of a game. They were so close, tied right before the last few seconds.

“Let’s go meet them outside the locker room before the crowd gets crazy.”

Nodding, I take one last look at my guys, then follow Milly.

When we get to the locker room exit, I find that there are other people waiting. Mostly women in jerseys. A wave of jealousy hits me.Puck Bunnies.

When players start making their way out and toward the locker room, the girls cheer, calling out names.

When Carson and Reid appear, my heart starts to race. Their hair is wet with sweat, and god, they look so damn hot.

I guess I’m not the only one who thinks so, because some of the girls start calling their names, trying to get their attention.

The guys ignore them, looking for me. When they see me, their smiles widen, and my heart flutters.

Rushing over to me, I throw myself at them. “You did amazing!” I tell them, not caring that they stink of sweat.

“Thanks, baby. Sucks we lost, but we’ll get them next time,” Reid says, pressing a kiss on my cheek.
