She sits back down between me and Carson, Reid on my other side. “It kills me to admit this, but this is nice,” Reid says.

“Yeah, I agree. It’s nice for us to play together. At one point, it felt like something that would never happen.”

“I’m glad it did,” Addie says, eyes still on the TV. “It’s literally a dream come true for me.”

These guys are supposed to be my rivals, but in reality, we were friends before we even started playing hockey.

Could that be something we get back? Can I be as close to Carson and Reid as I was with Grim and Waffles?

Part of me hopes we can, so we are a united front for Addie.

The rest of the night we game, laugh, and tell stories. We fill our bellies with pizza and get so stoned we don’t even know what time it is.

That is, until Addie straddles my lap, making me grunt.

“It’s almost midnight.” She smiles down at me, her eyes a little glazed. She looks over to Carson, then to Reid. “I’m glad I’m starting off the new year with all of you. The last few months have been insane.” She giggles. “Can you believe my mother wanted me to pack up with some self-centered, rich pricks?” She wrinkles her cute little nose.

All three of us Alphas growl, making Addie perfume. She bites her lip and rolls her hips.

“Going to that party was the best thing that could have happened.”

“We’re so fucking happy to have you, Sweet Girl.” Reid reaches up and brushes her hair behind her ear.

“Can’t imagine my life without you.” Carson rubs her arm, making her shiver.

“You’re my whole world,” I murmur, eyes lidded with lust and love.

She takes a shuddering breath as she looks down at her phone. “It’s midnight. Happy New Year.”

Reid stands, towering over her. He grips her chin and tilts her head back. “Happy New Year, Omega,” he growls softly and kisses her gently.

Carson gets to his feet next, on her other side, and grips her chin, guiding her toward him. “Happy New Year, Little One,” he purrs, kissing her with a little more heat.

When she turns to me, she’s breathless, and the smell of cupcakes has my cock hard beneath her.

“Happy New Year, Cupcake.” I cup the back of her head and pull her down to me. She comes willingly, letting me kiss her, my lips working against hers as she releases a contented sigh.

Everything in the world is right in this moment. Tomorrow, we’ll have to pop that little bubble, but for right now, we’re going to enjoy our time with our Omega as a growing pack.

It’s not what I imagined, but it’s not the worst thing that could have happened.

Chapter 24

Addison

Being mated to a pack full of hockey players in the middle of their season isn’t easy.

Damien has been at a string of away games, leaving me here all on my own. I hate it. I’ve gotten used to falling asleep in his arms and waking up next to him in the morning.

The best I’ve got is alternating between Carson’s and Reid’s hoodies and snuggling with FooFoo.

We do lots of Facetiming, but it’s not the same.

I want to travel with Damien when he leaves, but it would be too suspicious if I started going to all their away games out of nowhere. I’m already getting curious looks from my stepdad for my sudden interest in hockey, with all the practices and home games I’ve been going to.

This is the first time seeing Reid and Carson since my trip for New Year’s. They’ve also been traveling for away games. To avoid drawing attention to the bubblegum pink-haired girl who’s trailing after them for every game, I haven’t gone to their games.

Thankfully, they have a few days off between games and no practice this weekend. I hopped on the first flight I could get to Nashville. The sweethearts that they are, my Alphas surprised me by upgrading my ticket.
