Looking insulted by this remark, Finn opened his mouth to tell her differently.
Liam grabbed his arm and shook his head at him. This girl wouldn’t take any insult very well.
“What else do you know about her, lassie?”Darragh asked gently.
Gretchen shrugged.“I know if you are taken to her island you will never come back. They call that place death and damnation. Also, her husband and her can’t stand each other. All they did when they were in the same place was scream and fight.I think that’s why they aren’t together very often. They might kill each other.I also know that if she did have a lover, Stuart would definitely put a hit out on the both of them.So Shanon is looking over her shoulder every few minutes now. With less guards, she is probably going to be toast.”
“Do you know where she is right now?”Shay asked her.
“Yeah, I know where she was this morning anyway. She was at the old golf course hiding in one of the outbuildings. The old lounge with the blue walls.”
Timmy growled as he nodded his head.“Yeah, that makes sense. We couldn’t find her at any of the other hiding places last night.”He paused and ran his hand along his jaw. Then he looked up at Shay.“I think I might know a way to get close to that building without being seen.”
Shay gave him a nod then reached to his back and grabbed his weapon. He checked clip and looked up at Timmy.“Let’s go then and see if we can find her.”
Everyone went off to find their own weapons in their rooms and within fifteen minutes the whole group was ready to go hunting. They were all talking at once and getting ready to leave.
Gretchen just stood there shaking her head, then she stuck her fingers in her mouth and let out a loud, sharp whistle.
The whole room froze, then turned to stare at her.
“Glad I could get your attention,” she said sarcastically.“A smaller group would stand a better chance to get closer,” she warned them.“If you all go in there with your guns blazing, all you’ll do is tip her off that you’re there. This witch isn’t stupid and she’s pacing her rooms right now. She’ll just start shooting you before you could even get across that lawn.”
Timmy agreed, “Yeah, she’s got that right.Don’t forget she’s getting trigger happy right about now.”
“So how do you want us to do this then?”Shay asked.
“We can get you there and in position,” Timmy promised.“But Gretchen is right, we can’t take everyone. We’ll separate and maybe three or five of us will go.We can take one or two of you guys and if we go that way, we can probably get right to her front door before she sees us.”
Tennison spoke up, “I know that golf course.Hell, I’ve stayed there myself.I can take two of you.”
Timmy nodded.“I’ve been there too, so I’ll take two more.”
Judson agreed, “I can take two more.”
Vincent Cordell offered to take two as well.
It took several minutes to determine who from the Son’s group would go but one of them was Shay as he needed to be present officially.
When the group figured the plan out, they left.
Seamus and his uncles were staying behind but several of the others went.Arthur stayed behind as well.
Darragh looked over at Arthur and asked, “Do you trust these men?”
Arthur turned his head and looked him right in the eyes.“Yeah, I do.I’ve known them for years and I trust them with my life.”
Darragh glared at him.“Well lad, it’s not your life these men are in charge of is it?The men that went with them are our sons.”
Arthur shook his head.“You don’t need to worry.Timmy will bring them all home. He’s like me and we don’t leave anyone behind.”
Seamus stepped up and said, “Uncle Darragh, Timmy and his men are veterans. They were in the same unit. They know how to do this and they are honor bound.”
Darragh cocked his head at him then glanced at Arthur.“Why didn’t you say so?Military men are the best assets to have on our side.I’m sure this Shanon woman will be captured for sure now.”
A half hour later...
Timmy and his group made their way through the back streets and alleys. They all moved quickly and quietly and soon they were on the edge of the old golf club.
