Gunner looked over at Tameria and asked, “Did you happen to notice the name of the MC in Cedar Park?”

Tameria shook her head.“I didn’t get close enough for that.I mean these people were freakin’ scary but I can tell you the vests they wore had a double skull and crossbones on the back. With some kind of snake woven through the eyes of both skulls.”

Gunner looked troubled and then he shook his head.“Fucking hell.”

King stared at him.“You know those guys?”

Gunner nodded shortly.“Yeah, I might know them. They are pure 1 percenters called the Double Devils. They’re from down San Antonio way.”

“What is a 1 Percenter?”Tameria asked.

Gunner swung his gaze over at her.“Um, they are bikers that work outside the law and are considered criminals.”

Grizzly decided to define it further, “They’re considered to be members of an outlaw motorcycle club that operates outside the regulation of the American Motorcyclist Association...the AMA.The term originated from a 1947 AMA statement claiming 99% of motorcyclists are law-abiding, with 1% being unruly.”

Everyone looked over at him.

“Well damn, Grizzly I never knew that shit,” Gunner stated with a shake of his head.

“That outlaw part is not what worries me.Damn...”Grizzly swore.“They also got a sister group near Laredo way too. This could become an international problem.Between us and Mexico. One of the ingredients in Red Russian comes straight from Mexico, near as we can figure out.”

Andy just shook her head.“Leave it to my mother to get caught up in a damn drug ring.”

“Would your grandfather know anything about that?”King growled.

Andy and Tameria shook their heads.

“That’s not possible.Grandpa would have her head for getting into the drug trade,” Tameria voiced her take on it.“Ole Lester hates drugs of any kind.Hell, he wouldn’t even go to the doctor. He didn’t believe in them and he always said that the pills they gave you were poison.Rumors in the family said when his own mother got sick he would never take her to the doctor. He didn’t want to spend the money, which is what some of them whispered when he wasn’t present. He always said the doctors were greedy sonsofabitches.Even when his mother was dying he wouldn’t take her in to see anyone.”She shook her head.“He let her die rather than let her see a doctor.”

King just stared at her.“Yet, he left his daughter in an asylum for twenty years.Kept her doped up for years too.”

Andy shook her head.“That was for his own benefit, not hers.He figured she had money and he was just greedy enough to try to bargain with the devil himself to get it any way he could.”

Gunner just looked disgusted the more he heard about these two.“The man is heartless.I always heard he was but I never knew the rumors were true. He’s just a greedy fiend. And I cannot wait to bust him.”

Andy nodded.“You guys have no idea how low he and Sarah would go but what he did to Gabby was even worse.”

Tamaria nodded.“Lester never questioned his family when they had to turn over their own paychecks. He didn’t care when the women in his family had to pay for that privilege. He would always give us an envelope back but there was never any real money inside that envelope. And if our parents had already pushed us out? Then we were just shit out of luck.We lived in poverty while Lester and Sarah had steak for every meal. Then Lester started selling us off for business deals. That wasn’t fair either but hey, that’s Lester isn’t it?”

Andy nodded in agreement, “She’s telling the truth. If any of us girls talked back, Lester made our lives pure hell.I tried to save some money up once.I wanted enough so I could leave home one day and just when I got what I needed, my mom stripped my room and she found the money I had hidden and she took it.Then when I came down the next morning, her and grandpa were eating steak and lobster and my money was gone. Then she locked me in my room and I was there for three days. She wouldn’t even let me out to go to the bathroom. She didn’t give me any food or water either. When she finally opened that damn door she threw a mop at me and told me the house was a wreck. So before I could eat, I had to clean everything up.”

Grizzly looked disgusted.“The more I hear the more I want them in freakin’ chains.”He motioned toward the main room.“I think we need to sit down and talk this out.Get more details so we can be ready to formulate a plan.”He nodded at Tameria.“If she can tell us what she knows we might be able to catch this Sarah on camera and build a more solid case than what we’ve got now.I need something that will stand up in a court of law.”

Tameria swallowed hard. Then she glanced at her cousin Andy and the men.

Stitches paused when he saw her reach for her pocket again and he cleared his throat.

Tameria’s gaze went straight to his.

Stitches shook his head at her.

Her hand fell away and she raised her head again.

Now everyone moved toward the main room.

When they all sat down, Tameria looked at Grizzly and said, “If you’ll look in my pocket again, you’ll find my phone.I have a video of Sarah inside her house counting out pills, then there is another short video of her stashing the bag under the front steps. Then there is a third video of the MC retrieving the bag from under the steps.”She shook her head.“At first, I didn’t know why I took those videos.Like I’m not a cop or anyone important. But then the more I witnessed, I also knew I might never find anyone trustworthy enough to turn them over, but I think I can trust you all.”Tameria lifted her hands away from her coat.

Stitches leaned over and retrieved her phone.
