“What about them? The drive isn’t that far. I’ll be able to take you most days, but I’ll get you your own car, of course. Whatever you want.”

“Niki, you can’t just buy me a car.”

“Why not?”

“I feel bad enough taking the computer and iPad,” I tell him. “I’m not going to be a mooch.”

His whole face softens as he strokes my cheek. “You could never be a mooch, Van, and you can accept the car because things are different now. I gave you the computer before we were even officially dating. You’re my girlfriend now. That changeseverything. You’re mine, so let me take care of you and spoil you like I want. You have no idea how happy it makes me to do it.”

He’s hard to say no to when I can tell he’s being so genuine. I think about it, knowing I’d feel the same way if things were reversed and I was crazy wealthy and he was a struggling college student working his ass off to get his degree so he could start teaching. I’d share everything I had with him and be happy to do it. I would never once think he was using me or that it was unfair.

“You’re very hard to say no to,” I tell him.

He grins down at me and very slowly rocks his hips, reminding me that he’s still not soft. “Is it because of this? Because I’m not above using my dick to get my way on this.”

“It’s not because of that,” I say with a laugh, but when he moves again, there’s no denying that it’s a hell of a bargaining chip. “I would do the same thing for you, if things were reversed,” I tell him. “I’m sorry I can’t spoil you like that. Probably not ever, if I’m being honest. Kindergarten teachers don’t get paid a lot.”

“You’re forgetting something very important,” he says, leaning down to give me a soft kiss. “What’s mine is yours. You’re a millionaire, baby.”

I laugh at him and shake my head.

He pulls back and watches me. “Something funny?”

“Yeah, the idea of me being a millionaire is hilarious,” I tell him. I’m living off of whatever financial aid I have left over after paying for my classes and books, and even though my parents help me out more than I’m comfortable with, I still have to live very carefully or my bank account will hit a zero balance.

“Hmm,” he says while brushing a sweaty strand of hair off my forehead. “Well, prepare to laugh your ass off then, Van, because I’ve already added your name to my account. Your new debit and credit card should be arriving in the mail tomorrow. Feel free to buy whatever you want. Our balance will neverdrop.” He gives me a wicked grin that’s unbelievably sexy and says, “Perks of falling in love with a hacker.”

“I feel like I should be morally opposed to this,” I tell him.

“Are you?”

I think about it and then shake my head. “No. I know you well enough to know you might steal, but I’m guessing you also secretly donate a ton of money, and I know you wouldn’t ever take from those in need.”

He seems surprised that I would assume that, and it breaks my heart a little bit because I think everyone except Niki is aware of how big his heart is.

“What charities?” I ask, not even bothering to ask if I’m right first.

“A few,” he admits. “Several no-kill animal shelters, a few that try to clean the oceans and help wildlife, lots of orphanages around the world, but the main one I like to give to is a charity that helps victims of sex trafficking. They need a lot of counseling and medical attention after surviving something like that, and most of them don’t have the money for any of it, so they’re just left on their own with no help. Meanwhile, the richest people on earth sit on their asses and buy islands and new yachts and don’t give a shit about anyone else unless it’s tax season and they need to rack up the deductibles. It’s disgusting.”

I tighten my arms and legs around him, overcome by the need to be as wrapped up in him as possible. “You’re perfect,” I tell him, and I swear he blushes a tiny bit at my praise.

“I think you might be a little loopy after your orgasms,” he says.

“Maybe, but you’re still perfect.” I grin and kiss his beautiful, full lips. “I can’t believe I get to ride that dick anytime I want.”

He laughs while I kiss him, and I want to bottle this moment up and save it forever, because it’s perfect, and life doesn’t oftengive you moments that are so utterly flawless. I wouldn’t change a single thing.

With one arm wrapped around his shoulders and the other hand cupping his face, I look into his grey eyes and say, “Thank you, Niki.”

“For what?”

“For giving me the best first time anyone could ever ask for. You made me feel safe and loved. It was perfect.”

I feel the brush of his fingers against my neck as he strokes my skin. “You never need to thank me for things like that, for treating you how you should be treated. Besides, I’m definitely the one who should be thanking you. I can’t believe I got to lose my virginity to you,” he says, looking down at me like he’s still trying to figure out how he got so lucky, while I’m lying beneath him thinking the exact same thing about him.

“I guess as long as we both keep thinking things like that about each other, we should do okay for the long term, don’t you think?” I ask him.

“It makes sense that I would think it,” he says, “but your reasons will forever remain a mystery to me.”
