Dr.Shane just stood there looking lost in thought. He wondered if she was going to help him when she nodded.“I’ll help you with anything you need.”

“Thank you.”He knew he’d get the doctor’s assistance after a little persuasion.

Chapter 9

“You’re wearing that for your date?”Casey gasped in horror as June stepped out of her closet to show her friends. They were all seated on her bed, waiting for her to show them what she was wearing.Or rather, what she couldn’t decide to wear.

She had called the girls after work to tell them about Rob and his offering to teach her some lessons.Casey has squealed, claiming it was her ingenious plan.June didn’t contradict her.It partially had been her plan, but it had been Rob who’d offered to teach her, not her asking him.

Casey has insisted they all get together to help June pick out what to wear.Hence why they were in her house thirty minutes before she was supposed to meet Rob at his place.

June looked down at her shorts and Liam’s old basic training t-shirt she had stolen from him years ago.She and Liam were of similar height. He had a few inches on her.“It’s not a date, and we’re working out, not going out on the town.”

“Maybe you will afterward,” Karla suggested.“You do need to eat. It’s around dinnertime.”

“Regardless, I forbid you from wearing that.Go change. At least put on a tank top.Show off the girls.”Casey emphasized her statement by shimmying her chest, which made them all laugh.

“I’m wearing a sports bra.Even if I wore a tank top, there is no shimmying.”Her sports bra definitely made sure nothing moved when working out, which was their design.

“But you need to look cute,” Casey protested.“There’s no reason you can’t look good while working out.I know you have more revealing shirts than this.”

Yes, but not many that she would wear while working out or on her first session with Rob.She didn’t want him to think she was only using the workout as an excuse to hang out with him and flirt with him.Even if that was only partially true.

“Or wear that and bring a bag that has casual clothes in it in case you do eat together or at least to change into afterward. No sense in spending the evening in sweaty gym clothes. You can ask him to change afterward.”Leave it to Sue to always be practical.

“No, you cannot wear that shirt. The shorts are fine, but the shirt has to go.At least one less baggy. You look like you’re about to sit on your couch on your off day and watch television.”

She had worn this outfit while sitting on her couch on her off days. She had even cleaned her house in it.June had just chosen a shirt that would be good for working out in.

“What do you go running in?”Karla piped in and asked.

“Shorts and shirts like this.”

“I have it.”Casey snapped her fingers and stood up, looking excited as she hurried into June’s closet.

June didn’t know if she should be afraid or not, but then again, she didn’t have much for revealing sexy clothes in her closet. She didn’t go anywhere but work and home and their Friday night ritual at the bar to unwind after a long week.

Her last few attempts to date had ended horribly, so she didn’t see a point in adding clothes to her closet for men who couldn’t appreciate her for her.

One date had suggested she wear pants to hide her legs so it would be less embarrassing for him to be seen with her.Yeah, that hadn’t gone over well with her.

It wasn’t that she didn’t own pants. She did; they just made taking her socket on and off more difficult. They also lived in the desert. There wasn’t much need for pants.

Casey held up a white shirt with a boat neck, so the collar rested on her shoulders. It wasn’t revealing but still somewhat sexy. She could move around easily in it without worrying she was going to flash Rob some boob.It wasn’t a bad choice.“Try it on.”

June swapped her shirt for the new one and showed it off to everyone. The straps to her sports bra stuck out, but that was kind of the design of the shirt.

The girls started catcalling her, which made June’s cheeks heat.

“I’m a genius,” Casey crowed.“Now what to pack for afterward,” Casey mused, turning back to the closet and looking through her belongings.

“Cas, I don’t even know if I’ll be there after my lesson.”

“It never hurts to be prepared.”

June knew better than to argue with Casey.Once she had an idea stuck in her head, it was hard to get her to let it go.

Casey pulled out a few items for her to choose from.At least they weren’t overly sexy.Casual yet cute.
