Steve looks offended. “You don’t want me here?”

Sam blinks, lips parted in disbelief. “That’s not what I said. You’re hovering. That’s not necessary.”

“What’s going on with you two?”

Violet’s suspicious gaze narrows on her friends. Her voice rings strong in the room and must carry into the living room by the way the men all turn to look at us.

Sam lets out an epic sigh, then looks up at us three fellow Omegas, face tinted pink and looking shy. “We’re pregnant.”

The whole house erupts into joyous congratulations, hugs, and back-slapping. Excluding Adam and to some extent, Jasper, my pack and I barely know these people, but we join in the celebration, the happiness is absolutely contagious.

We stay until just before dinner, when Steve and Sam make their exit, followed by Izzy and her dogs. We thank Violet and her pack for their hospitality, and are out the door to head back home.

Home.

We’re not all living in that house yet, but we will be soon enough. And after spending time at Ben’s with his family, a new excitement burns in my chest.

I can’t wait for us to be a family, too.

Chapter Eighteen

“Idefinitely loved the separate bedrooms and nesting room. That’s pretty much genius.”

We’re all gathered in Adley’s living room, discussing what we liked about Ben’s house, and what we’d like different in our new place.

“I hate to be a diva, but I need an office. One big enough for all my equipment.”

I nod at Adam, knowing exactly what his current setup is like in his two-bedroom apartment.

It ain’t pretty.

“Why don’t we carve out a section of the finished basement for your office? It’s naturally cooler down there, so less energy for climate controls.” Adam’s equipment consists entirely of computers and server towers, all of which need to be kept cold.

“I like that idea, if no one else objects.”

“That’s fine with me,” Adley chimes. “Ezra?”

He hesitates, as I knew he would. Ezra definitely has some issues about not being able to financially contribute to this project. It looks like he thinks that means he can’t ask for what he wants.

“Ez, bro, talk to us. You’re a part of this pack, and we’re making life-long decisions here.”

His pale eyes turn up at me, and he sighs. “I would like a gym. If possible. Physical exertion helps me regulate my… moods.”

Ah, the Cap thing. Of course.

“Yeah, man. Adam isn’t going to be taking up the whole basement. Have you seen the size of it?” The basement is currently unfinished, dark and uninviting, but I have a good eye for transformation, and it’s going to be great when we’re through with it. “And Adam, we can make sure the walls are insulated, not only for temperature but sound.”

Adam is already nodding, looking pretty excited. Almost as excited as me.

“I’d like to build a temporary dog-run out by the trailer,” Ezra adds, sounding a bit more confident. “Adley, I’d like you and the furry ones to come stay in the trailer with me while work is being done here.”

Adley’s smile is radiant. “We’d love that.” She gives Nikki a hug in her lap.

We sit together, chatting and planning for another hour before Adam goes back to his place and Ezra gives me a knowing look before heading for his trailer.

I already talked to them about my plans for tonight. Now, I need to talk to Adley.

“Hey, Ads?”
