He pulled her into his arms and held her tight until she relaxed again. “Losing control with me is much less traumatic than with anyone else. Little girls need specialized care. He treated you as an adult today. You and I will explore how a Little girl receives medical treatment. We’re going to strip the Ravagers’ power over you, so they can’t rob you of the benefits for being Little in all situations.”

“I hate that they still affect me,” she whispered.

“I do, too. But thanks to Razor, we have a whole toolkit to have some fun and reduce the lingering trauma.”

“He’s really smart.”

“Razor is the smartest man I’ve met. And a damn fine doctor. Lucien convincing him to join the Devil Daddies was a masterful stroke in our favor.”

“Lucien sees people differently than others do, doesn’t he?”

“Definitely. Lucien may be a heavily tattooed ex-convict, but he competes with Razor for who’s the brainiac of the Devil Daddies MC.”

“Do you think he’ll give me a job?” Angel asked. “I’d love to know you’re on the other side of the parking lot.”

“Ask Razor. I’m in the health center way too often,” Vex said with a laugh before telling her, “I’d love to have you close too. But I don’t want you to choose to work here because you’re scared. There are some things you may wish to know about the business we do here.”

“Do you do something illegal?” Her gaze searched his face.

“On the border of shady,” Vex admitted.

“Thanks for telling me the truth. I don’t want to go into anything blindly. That will add some zeroes to the salary I demand,” she told him, standing straighter.

Vex winked at her. She was so brave. “That’s my Baby girl. Let’s go home, Angel.”

She nodded and stepped back so he could swing his leg over the powerful motorcycle. “Do I sit behind you this time?”

“Can you hold on tight?” he asked.

“Yes, Daddy.”

“Good girl. Hop on.”

Vex sat by her crib as Angel took a nap. She’d fallen asleep immediately after drinking her bottle. His phone buzzed, and Vex shifted to pull the device from his back pocket. Razor had sent two links and a message.

How’s Angel? Razor asked.

She’s sleeping soundly. Thank you for treating her with kid gloves today. Vex had always thought a lot of Razor, but he understood now how skilled Razor was.

Good and my pleasure. Read the articles.

Will do, Vex promised.

If she comes to work with me, you can have lunch together.

Vex smiled. Razor wanted Angel’s expertise badly. It’s her decision, but I’ll share that benefit if you keep her from reading from my file.

Good point. She doesn’t need to know how clumsy you are, Razor assured him.

Clumsy. That was a good code word for the person Lucien often sent into skirmishes that needed to be won decisively by any means possible. Angel would be happier if she wasn’t aware of that.

He clicked on the first article Razor had sent and noted the author’s name. Razor’s real name appeared in the byline. Vex dove into reading. The topic dealt with the specifics of kidnapping on different women’s personality types and how to support their healing process. Vex was pleased to note he had already figured out most of the suggestions. A few surprised him, but he trusted Razor and would try them out.

The second was a chapter from a book. Vex looked up in disbelief as he discovered Razor had written a handbook for Daddy Doms. This section was on how to take medical care of a Little girl. He dived in. Two minutes later, he shifted in the rocker, easing his fly over his growing erection. Forcing himself to focus, Vex finished reading the chapter. He appreciated Razor’s notes on how to help his Little girl enjoy medical procedures. He made a mental note to get the rest of Razor’s handbook.

When he finished, Vex leaned back in his chair as he made a plan. He planned to try something new every day with his Little girl. Then, he’d assess what Angel needed regularly as well as what she enjoyed most.

A rustling from the crib drew his attention from his plans. “Hi, Baby girl. Did you have a good nap?”
