“I’m glad.”
In a jiffy, Vex had Angel changed into the gown and settled on the table. As they waited for Razor to return, Angel asked, “Daddy, am I too skinny?”
“Baby girl, I don’t give a rat’s ass how much you weigh. You could be a hundred pounds or three hundred. That’s a number on a scale. What’s important is that you’re healthy and happy. Is it important to you to know how heavy I am?”
“No,” Angel said, shaking her head. Vex was physically fit from his job. She didn’t know what the scale would say about him. And why would that matter? Some people would judge others by their appearance, but Vex wasn’t like that.
The door cracked open, interrupting her thoughts. “Prepared for me?” Razor asked.
“Yes, I’m ready,” Angel answered.
Chapter 19
Vex relaxed when his Little girl sat back up on the exam table. Razor had done an incredible job with her. He’d explained every step of the exam for Angel as he worked efficiently to finish quickly.
“Okay. My part is done.” Razor opened a cabinet and pulled out a doctor’s satchel. “Vex, you’re up.”
Taking the heavy bag, Vex asked, “What’s this for?”
“Little girls need help to recover from traumatic events. Playing doctor with Angel will help her heal. Inside are the tools you’ll need to give her medical treatment at home. Head back to the cabin and try everything out. Link doctor time with pleasure. Then she won’t bust your lip when she returns.”
Vex smirked and turned to wink at Angel. “I like this idea. Shall we go home and have some fun?”
Her cheeks turned a brilliant shade of red as she shifted on the tissue-covered exam table. “Daddy!”
“I think that’s a yes. Thank you, Razor,” Vex said to his MC brother. Razor had stitched him up repeatedly. Probably saved his life at least twice. However, the way Razor had taken care of his Little girl meant more than anything.
“Stop by the desk and pick up a prescription for birth control. Angel may have some spotting for a while. Experiment with Angel wearing a diaper to prevent accidents.”
When she had dressed, Vex and Angel found Razor working on charts piled everywhere. Razor picked up the script. Before handing the paper over, he met Angel’s gaze. “I heard your employer didn’t keep your job open for you. Honey told me you did something technical. I don’t suppose you know anyone that understands document management, do you?”
“Yeah, I’ve done a lot of that,” Angel answered truthfully. She nodded at the file cabinets and commented, “You really should get this organized.”
“I don’t have the hours in my schedule. Do you? Lucien has authorized me to hire someone to start here with my medical records,” Razor told her.
Vex smiled. That wily bastard. He was going to put his Little girl to work.
“This will take months,” Angel warned.
“Are you going somewhere?” Razor asked. “Lucien has more that needs loyal attention when you’d finish this task.”
“How much will you pay me?” Angel blurted.
“Lucien will discuss that with you. He’s in charge of everything around here. You have a meeting with him at two,” Razor told her. “Haggle with him. I love it when he’s focused on someone else.”
“Okay.” Angel leaned against her Daddy. “I’m tired. Could we go take a nap?”
He didn’t know how he could love anyone as much as he adored her. Vex kissed her lightly. “You’ve got it, Baby girl. Let’s go home.”
When they got to his bike, Vex placed the helmet back on her head. “No bashing Daddy,” he teased.
“I’m sorry. I didn’t behave well, and Razor was the best. Why’d he send home that doctor’s bag?”
“I needed that to care for you.”
“Why?”
“Tell me, Baby girl. Were you scared of Razor or of having someone take control away from you?” When she stiffened, she confirmed for him that the lingering effects of her abduction had caused her to panic.
