Chapter 24

––––––––

HARRISON STILLED BEHINDher, and she heard his sharp intake of breath. His scent and strength surrounded her, and Luciana felt a thrill shoot right through her.She felt safe in his arms but also flushed at his nearness. He wrapped his muscled arms around her, holding her to him, and kissed the top of her head.

She shivered, and Harrison kissed her again, his lips this time brushing against her temple.

“What’s that scent?”he asked, his voice husky.

“Freesia.”

He moved lower, his mouth at her neck.

“It makes me want to run my lips all over you,” he murmured.

“Si,” she said, warmth flooding through her.“Do that, please.”

He chuckled, but then he was lifting her, Harrison surprisingly strong. He positioned her so that she straddled him, her legs spread over his muscled thighs. His hands cupped her face as he tilted her head back, and then he kissed her thoroughly, stealing her thoughts and her breath.

Harrison had been holding back on her.He kissed her like she was his.One big hand slid to the back of her head, tangling in her hair, the other sliding down the side of her neck.It was commanding and sexy, but Luciana had never felt so safe.He paused for a beat, letting her catch a breath, and his thumb ran over her lips.“I’ve been wanting to kiss you all week,” he said, his voice gravel.

“I wanted that, too,” she admitted, her voice breathless.

He leaned in again, his kiss slow but more thorough.Luciana opened to him, letting Harrison explore her mouth. His tongue slid inside, and she felt consumed by him—lost to his kiss, his taste, his touch. His tongue lightly pulsed in and out, and then one big hand slid down her side, his fingers grazing the side of her breast.

She whimpered and pressed closer, clinging to him like he was the only thing anchoring her to the ground.Luciana could feel his erection beneath her core, but it didn’t frighten her.She lightly bucked against him, letting him know what she wanted.

Growling, Harrison leaned them both over, lying Luciana back on the blanket as his big arms caged her in.“We should stop,” he muttered, but he kissed and nuzzled at her neck.

“No.Do not stop.”

“I want to do right by you,” he admitted.“You’ve been through a lot and shouldn’t rush into anything.”

“And maybe I know myself best,” she replied, resting her palm against one of his cheeks as he gazed into her eyes.“Maybe I want to feel something real and good for a change.”

He huffed out a quiet breath, and she could see him nearly shaking with restraint.“I don’t want to hurt you.”

“You’d never hurt me,” she said vehemently.“Now kiss me again before I have my wicked way with you.”

He shook his head in disbelief, the corner of his mouth quirking up, then gazed down at her with affection in his eyes.“I know you’d be the death of me.”But then he sealed his mouth over hers, ending all discussion on the matter. His big hands slid over her, kneading, caressing, teasing her into a frenzy.

He palmed one of her breasts, his thumb sliding back and forth over her nipple. She gasped, and he surprised her, ducking down and tonguing her nipple through her thin cotton shirt.Luciana cried out in surprise, thankful the beach they were on was secluded. Not that Harrison would ever let someone else see her like this.He was far to protective to ever allow that.
