“Si, it was.Coming to the beach is always a good idea.I don’t know how I ended up working near the jungles of Panama,” she said with a small laugh.“I should’ve found a nursing position near the ocean, no?It would have been far nicer.”

“Then you wouldn’t have met Avery,” he pointed out.

She glanced over at him, her gaze thoughtful.“Or you.”

Warmth filled his chest. She was damn right about that, but it was a rather unconventional way to meet.“While I hate what you went through, I’m not sad about the fact that we met.”

“Me either,” she said softly, sneaking a glance his way.

Harrison rolled his shoulders, the stress from the day still with him despite their relaxing dinner. He was tense many a night, but it wasn’t because of her.The team had spent hours poring over intelligence, trying to determine how Luciana’s father fit into all of this. He’d shared with her what he could, but he mostly just worried about her safety. He’d protect her no matter what, but it helped to know what he was up against.

“You look tense,” Luciana noted.

He glanced toward her, meeting her concerned gaze.“Just work stuff,” he admitted, lifting a hand to his neck.

“Si.Allow me,” she told him, rising to her knees and situating herself behind him.

“Luciana—”

“Don’t argue with me,” she said, her slender hands already on his broad shoulders.

Harrison let out a groan. Her touch felt good.Luciana’s fingers were slender but strong. She gave a better neck and shoulder massage than he’d expected. She didn’t look particularly strong, but the way she worked at his muscles had him practically putty in his hands.

“That feels incredible,” he admitted.

She remained behind him as she finished the massage, her thumb rubbing against the short-cropped hair at the back of his neck.He could feel her breath on his skin, his body taking notice.“You work too hard,” she told him, seemingly in no hurry to finish.

“Maybe,” he grumbled, and she laughed. The sound made his chest swell and his dick stand up and take notice. She massaged his shoulders some more, gently this time, pressing even closer to him.He could feel her warmth behind him, and her long hair tickled his neck as it blew in the breeze.

One of her hands landed on his bicep, and he nearly shivered as her fingers trailed over his tattoo.“I wanted to inspect this up close,” she admitted.

“Oh yeah?”He tried to remain composed, but his voice was rough. He could smell her floral scent and feel her breasts pushing up against him as she inspected his arm.She was feminine and sweet.Sexy.And he tried to remain still so he didn’t turn around, lay her down on the blanket, and kiss the hell out of her right then and there.

Luciana shocked him by scooting around and settling right in front of him, looking him right in the eyes.

“Luciana—” he warned.

She raised an eyebrow, knowing exactly what he was opposed to.

“I feel protective of you,” he said, his voice a low rumble.

“Si,” she agreed, reaching out and trailing her fingers over his chest.“And this is a problem for you?”

He swiped a hand over his face, trying to buy some time.“Yeah, it’s a problem, because I also want to kiss the hell out of you.”

“I don’t see the problem with that,” she told him.

Harrison chuckled, then drew her closer.“It’s a problem because I’m trying to do the right thing here,” he said, his voice husky and low.But he held on to her, settling her into his lap so she was facing the ocean, her back resting against his chest. It was less tempting that way.Maybe.Because as she wiggled to get comfortable, her ass ground against his now throbbing cock.

“You might be gone soon,” he murmured, his hands trailing down her bare arms as she shivered.

“Si.Perhaps.Or maybe you will give me a reason to stay.”
