At the next exit, I am grateful to see a highway sign advertising a motel.Pulling off, a gas station, a fast-food restaurant, and a small motel with the vacancy sign lit up greets us.The dark clouds out west are obviously coming our way.

“Looks like we are getting hit soon. How about I drop you off at the office to grab our rooms and I’ll go through the drive-thru?Might be our last warm meal for a bit.”

When I return with way too much fast food, I find Ophelia waiting for me outside the office.Stepping out of the car, the sky opens up and hail the size of marbles begins to pelt down. She runs out to help me with the food bags and luggage.Even though the hail stings, the two of us can’t help but laugh. We wanted an adventure and we’re getting one.

Under the motel’s awning, I say, “Okay, that sucked. What room numbers are we?And I can send you what I owe you.”

“Well, here’s the thing, we weren’t the only ones with this idea.I got the last room.”

“Room?Oh shit, okay.”

We shuffle down to the end of the motel and, after we swing open the door, find one king-sized bed.

“Even if it wasn’t just the one room, they also didn’t have minotaur-sized beds, anyway.”Ophelia says, apologetically.

“Yeah, that’s less common in conservative areas.”I say, putting the food bags on the coffee table.

“Listen, I can sleep on this couch.I know the bed is still too small, but it’s the biggest sleeping space.”

Groaning, I look over at the beautiful witch.

“I don’t like that.I could sleep sitting up or something.”

Opening up the bag full of fries, Ophelia laughs while popping one in her mouth.

“No way am I letting you sleep sitting up.”

We turn on the weather station and eat our fill of warm junk food.Based on the weather reports, it looks like I-40 will be useless to us tomorrow as well.

“Fuck.I guess I am not making this wedding.”

“Shit, I’m sorry.Maybe you could find a flight?”

“We’re in the middle of nowhere.Plus, with this weather, I don’t think it’s a good idea.”

I text Serapion my shitty update and he replies almost immediately.

Don’t feel bad!I’m sorry you’re stuck in the middle of nowhere, though. Please be safe.

And enjoy sharing that room.

Looking up, I lose my breath when I see those coffee-colored eyes watching me.

“How did he take it?”

I find myself mesmerized by her dark brown lips as she speaks to me.Lord, this woman is stunning.

“He’s being cool, of course.Ser is a great guy.I am so goddamn bummed that I am missing out on his wedding, though. It’s not like we bullmen are constantly getting hitched.”

“What do you mean?”

Feeling exposed, I say, “Well, you know. We’re weird-looking to most people. With our huge size and big-ass horns.”

Her voice strained, Ophelia breathes out, “I think you’re the most handsome man I have ever laid eyes upon.”

With my brain empty of thought, I lean across the couch and devour her full lips with mine. She welcomes my kiss, opening her mouth and slipping her tongue inside. The curvy witch wraps her arms around my neck and pulls her voluptuous body up against my own.I allow my hands to travel down her back, to her round peach-of-an-ass, and squeeze the sexy curves.Ophelia purrs into my mouth while I get handsy until she yelps with surprise.

Because we are suddenly in complete darkness.
