"I'm not.You'refucking withme."

"I would never," I groaned, pecking her lips, then her chin and down her throat.

"Honor," she moaned, pressing her chest against mine. "You're sweaty, and we need to talk."

"We can talk after we get cleaned up."

"Honor," she started to bicker. Sucking her bottom lip between mine, I nibbled, applying enough pressure to excite her.

"Give me," I groaned the demand, and like I knew she would, her body gave in with her long legs wrapping around my waist.

"No panties." I smirked, eyeing just how pretty her pussy was. "You knew what the fuck you were doing."

"Whatever, Honor," she smacked, rolling her eyes.

"Yeah, ight keep that same energy in the shower."

Navy giggled for a few seconds, then stopped once we entered the bathroom.

"What's wrong?" I asked, placing her on her feet.

"Are we gonna be okay?" she asked, sounding almost childlike.

A slow ache rolled through my ribcage.

"Always," I answered hurriedly. "Why?"

Shrugging, she walked away and went to start the shower. The thin straps of her nightgown peeled from her shoulders, dropping it to the floor.

"Don't keep me waiting," Navy hummed, sliding the glass back of the standing shower.

I stripped off my clothes, brushed my teeth, and joined her in the shower. Navy stood under the showerhead, letting the water massage over her. I slowly backed her against the porcelain tiles.

"Honor," she mumbled as I crouched down.

On my knees, I clutched her thigh and swung it over my shoulder. Her gaze dug into me as I bowed my head, taking her into my mouth. Her lips parted at the touch of my tongue.

"Damnnn," she hissed.

Navy's head rested on the tiles, lips falling open, trembling as my name slipped from her mouth. I craved her. Hunger curled through me, begging me to fix whatever I broke inside of her. Every shiver and moan her body delivered her eyes fluttered with a sadness that was my doing.

"Just like that," she hummed, palming the back of my head. I was starving and didn't see myself being satisfied until I erased whatever doubt I planted inside her.

Navy Achebe

Music crooned softlyin the background, keeping me company and my thoughts at bay while I waited for Honor to come downstairs. Our shower session wasn't supposed to turn out the way it did, but that was Honor for you. When hungry, he was gon' eat until I bared all my fruit. Sex with him has always been out of this world, but what we just did and what happened last night didn't feel like what I was used to. Our bodies tangled, yet I've never felt further away. Our hearts knotted, then slipped loose every time he begged me to settle his soul. Our pleasure exploded. His inside me, mine on him. However, what followed wasn't our usual high, it was doubt. I did my best not to harp on what I couldn't put into words, but my heart wouldn't let me ignore it.

I cut a few more stems, then placed the flowers Honor brought me into a vase to see how I liked the arrangement. I didn't, so I pulled two out, turned them upside down, and rolled their stems between my hands, gently opening the rose for a fuller look. I replaced them in the vase, then did a few more until the arrangement was to my liking.

"You… you make my heart go boom. Oh baby, it's that look in your eyes that makes you the prize.

One of my favorite songs, "Grateful" by a new artist named Mahalia, poured out of the speakers. I swayed to the melody and mouthed the lyrics. Every word spoke to the part of me that consistently worried about Honor. Complex men never felt comfortable enough in their vulnerability to lay their cards on the table, and Honor just so happened to be the epitome of complex. He wanted to take the world on by himself while the rest of us waited anxiously for his return, only that's not how it was supposed to be. With me, Honor never had to face anything alone. For him, I'd stand on the frontline, gun in hand, ready to do whatever was necessary to make sure he was safe. It never had to bejusthim, but that's how he wanted it. He chose to walk alone and ask for forgiveness rather than partnership.

"What are you in here doing?" Honor's voice covered the kitchen like he wanted to paint the walls with his words.

Before I could answer, he walked over, hugging my waist and burying his face in the crook of my neck. His teeth sank deep into me. I winced, then moaned as he sucked, turning the pain to pleasure.

"Honor, stop." I nudged him with my shoulder, wanting him to quit before a hickey formed.
