“Glad you think so,” Ghost smirked, as he refocused his attention on his computer screen and said, “Snow White, you want to bring Junior here up to speed?”
Giving Ghost the finger, Riley asked Glenn, “What’s the plan?”
“Simple…kill Panther…find Kevin…kill The Collector.”
“Easy-peasy. In that order?”
“For now, but it can change if an opportunity arises.”
“Gotcha. Starting with Panther.”
Handing Riley one of the phones on the table next to him, Glenn said, “Start with Luka’s phone. Even though Loki knows who hired his brother, it should be a better bet because Luka probably spoke with Panther directly.”
Taking it, Riley said, “I’ll get on it. What about your mate? I haven’t cracked the anti-tracking program on Sawyer’s phone yet.”
“Back-burner it for now. I’m gonna get his location through Ghost, but I have to take care of Panther first.”
Giving a quick nod, Riley opened a program on his laptop before plugging in Luka’s phone. Soon, he was scanning its contents.
Leaving him to it, Glenn rose and motioned Ghost and Smokey to follow him into the small war room he’d set up next door. After they all were seated, he said, “While Riley is handling Panther, let’s work on finding Kevin.”
“What about his parents?” asked Smokey.
“That’s first on the list. I asked Riley about possible safe houses and the ones available won’t work.”
“Why not?” Smokey asked.
“Too remote…impossible for us to be there and quickly get back here if we need to.” Seeing Smokey frowning, Glenn held up his hand. “I came up with a better place for them but it depends on Kevin’s father.”
“In what way?” asked Ghost.
“You said they moved so he was closer to the water, right?”
“Yeah. His father would spend up to a month in the Arctic Ocean, reconnecting with other narwhal shifters,” Smokey explained.
“Was that the only reason?”
“What do you mean?” asked Smokey.
“He’s a sea mammal…does he need to shift…like…I don’t know…every six weeks?” asked Glenn.
“No. He can go months without shifting.”
“What does that have to do with finding a safe place for Kevin’s parents?” asked Ghost.
“It matters because the place I’m thinking of doesn’t have any water near-by.”
“Explain. I don’t like any place that won’t involve us being on site with them,” growled Smokey.
“I haven’t told you what I found when Riley and I rescued my mother, right?” After seeing his friends shake their heads, Glenn continued. “The Alpha of the Blackwood Pack sent three of their members to New York to find my mother. When Riley finally tracked her down to this abandoned warehouse, they were already there.”
“How’s that possible? Is Riley slippin’?” asked Ghost.
“I heard that, asshole!” Riley yelled in from the other room.
Smirking, Glenn said, “No…let’s just say they had a head start, but that’s not the point. When I was scoping out the place before we went in, I saw one of them walk through a closed door, another became invisible and the third had incredible strength…all very rare attributes.”
“You’re shittin’ us,” said Ghost.
