“Got it,” Alex said. “This is so cool! I feel like I’m in a movie. Hey don’t forget my code name is ‘Delicious Surprise’.”
“You hear that Snow White?” asked Sawyer.
“Yeah…Delicious Surprise…got it,” Glenn muttered. Someday he’d pay Smokey back for coming up with it, but until then, he’d just bide his time, planning his revenge. Slowing down to avoid missing the entrance, a stab of alarm ran through his gut at the now increasing thickness of the fog. Finding the driveway, Glenn turned into the campground, his car suddenly enveloped by murky forest mist, its headlights reflecting the dense haze into his eyes.
As Glenn slowly drove on the road leading to Sawyer’s campsite, Alex murmured, “This is spooky…almost like in a scary movie. I keep waiting for a zombie to leap out in front of us.”
“You like zombie movies?” asked Sawyer, peering through the windshield, hoping his mate was wrong.
“Nah…I didn’t say that. Zombie movies scare the crap out of me,” Alex muttered, moving closer to Sawyer. “I prefer something more wham, bam, action man.”
“Like superheroes?” asked Glenn.
“They’ll do, but give me spies, mysteries, intrigue, murders…and I’m one happy camper,” Alex said.
“Sounds good…we should do a movie night,” Sawyer said, “with popcorn.”
“That’s a great idea!” exclaimed Alex. “Tiger mate? Agree?”
“Yup…only question is, who gets to pick the film?” Glenn asked, smirking.
“We can go alphabetical,” Alex replied.
“Oh no, that puts me last. How about rock, paper, scissors?” asked Sawyer. “That’s what my brothers and I used to do.”
“I never did that,” Alex said, softly.
“Screw it…we can just draw straws,” Glenn said. Putting the car in park, he added, “Here you go Sawyer.”
“Straws it is.” Untangling himself from Alex and giving his mate a quick kiss, Sawyer opened the car door and jumped out.
Rolling down his window, Glenn said, “Make it quick. This fog’s only gonna get worse tonight, making driving dangerous.”
“Will do. See you shortly.”
“Wait…what about your jeep? Who’s gonna drive it back to Ghost’s?” Asked Alex.
“Already handled. The car rental company picked it up earlier today.” Pushing the door closed, Sawyer headed for his motorhome, swallowed up by the fog in seconds.
Putting his car back in gear, Glenn drove on until he reached Alex’s trailer. Getting out, he opened the back door, waiting until Alex scrambled out before shutting it. “Okay, what’s first?”

Sawyer quickly shoved the few loose items in the living area into cabinets before heading to his bedroom, checking along the way to make sure he hadn’t missed anything. Closing the bedroom door behind him, Sawyer scanned the room, scooping up a couple of things left over from the night Alex spent with him and stuffing them into the closet. He smirked at the thought of whatQuin would say about his sloppiness. There was just one more thing he wanted to do before rejoining his mates. Sliding his phone from his pocket, Sawyer sat down on the bed and called his twin. Waiting for his brother to answer, his mind was already selecting a movie; he was sure he’d pull the longest straw.
“Hey,” Mac said. “Two fucking mates?”
“Jackson told you, huh?”
“Well, it sure wasn’t you.”
“I’m telling you now…that has to count for something,” Sawyer grumbled.
“It depends…when do I get to meet them?” asked Mac.
“Soon. We’re driving up in the next day or so,” Sawyer said.
“That’s fantastic! I was trying to figure out how to convince you to come back so I can meet your mates. With Ian and Dakota so close to giving birth, I can’t risk not being here.”
