“Yup, that’s me…Delicious Surprise!” Alex waved again.

“You can’t have two mates,” growled Smokey at Glenn. “You ain’t a fuckin’ bear.”

“Nope, he’s not,” Alex chirped.

“Isn’t Sawyer your mate?” Ghost asked Glenn, confused now.

“Yup,” Alex answered for Glenn, happily, “but Sawyer’s my mate, too, if you want to get technical about it…not that you do…but I thought it might help clear things up.”

“Buttercup…”

“He calls you ‘buttercup’?” asked Smokey.

“Yup,” Alex replied, grinning. “Kinda cute, don’t you think?”

Shifting his gaze over to Glenn, Ghost said, “Yeah…it is.”

“How come you have two mates?” asked Smokey. “That just ain’t normal.”

“Duh…cuz the Fates gave me two,” Glenn growled. “What the fuck do ya think? I just decided to claim both on a whim?”

Smokey’s eyes bugged out. “They’re fuckin’ claimed?Bothof them? By you?”

“Yup, we are,” Alex said, cheerfully, “both of us…last night…it was the sexiest time I ever…”

“Buttercup!” Glenn and Sawyer shouted together.

Rolling his eyes at Smokey and Ghost, Alex said, “You’ll just have to take my word for it, seeing my mates don’t want me to share any details.”

“Fuck…that is so not fair!” Smokey complained.

“I know…right…but what can I do? My Alphas have spoken,” Alex grinned.

“Yeah, well maybe your Alphas…one in particular…will tell me what’s going on.” Then, eyeing Glenn, Ghost continued, “Last we knew, Sawyer was your mate and you were supposed to find Alex and escort him to the Blackwood Pack. Wanna fill us the fuck in?”

“Yeah…but first, where’s Panther?” asked Glenn.

“My guys are untying him before locking him up,” Ghost said. “And before you ask, he won’t be near Loki and Luka.”

“Good,” Glenn muttered. Then waving at his friends, he continued. “Alex, Sawyer, these two are Ghost and Smokey…as to whether they still are my friends is debatable.”

“Hiya Ghost…Smokey,” Sawyer said, making sure to stay behind Glenn. His clothes were shredded from his shift, leaving him slightly uncomfortable being introduced to his mate’s friends, naked.

Smirking at Sawyer, Ghost pulled open a deep drawer in the kitchen island, taking out a pair of board shorts. “Here, this should do,” he said, tossing them to Sawyer.

“Thanks.”

“Why are you called Smokey?” Alex asked, staring at the tall shifter.

“Cuz I’m a bear.”

Alex’s eyes grew round. “Really? Like Smokey the Bear?”

“Yup.”

“Cool! Now see, that code name fits. Makes perfect sense,” Alex said. “Let me guess…my mate gave you the name.”

“Nope, my friend Kevin did…when we were kids.”
