“Uh-huh,” Galen said. “We wuz looking for our dragon.”

“He gots wings, Carsso!” exclaimed Eamon, pointing to Hunter. “Can we see them?”

“He don’t have them…he’s a wolf and wolfs don’t have wings,” Galen insisted.

“Carsso, make him show us. Gally said he’s lyin’ about wings,” cried Eamon.

“Heislyin’,” Galen shouted.

“Hey, no yelling,” Carson said, reaching over and smoothing down Galen’s hair. “Hunter’s telling the truth Galen, his wolf does have wings.” Looking over at Hunter, he said, “Sorry about this. Remy and I have to go to meet with the Witches’ Governing Council next week and we were hoping you could stay at our house. Mrs. B will be there early and will remain until the boys are in bed…so all you’d have to do is be there during the night.”

“No problemo,” Hunter smiled. “But what’s with the d-r-a-g-o-n giving them an r-i-d-e because I don’t think that’s a good idea…and I’m pretty sure my mate would agree with me.”

“Don’t worry…it’s not gonna happen. I’ll talk to you later about it,” Carson said. “C’mon guys, Remy’s waiting for us.”

Hunter waited until his cousin and the boys were out of earshot before asking Fionn, “So pet, that was why you were hiding, hmm?”

Climbing out of the bushes, Fionn grinned. “Thanks mate. I was coming back from the winery when theysurprised me on the path, demanding I shift into my dragon and take them flying. I knew Remy wouldn’t approve but they wouldn’t listen…they claimed Carsso…I mean Carson…said I would.” Brushing the leaves and twigs from his shirt and pants, he muttered, “It’s a good thing I can’t have kids because obviously I have no idea how to handle them.”

“Carson’s a natural father,” Hunter said, pulling a few leaves from his mate’s hair. “According to Jackson, their younger siblings always gravitated towards him whenever they were in a room together.”

When Fionn’s clothes were clear of any reminders of his time in the bushes, he looked up at his mate and asked, “Were you looking for me?”

“Yeah, Oracle called me,” Hunter said, pulling Fionn into his arms before giving him a bunch of soft kisses along his neck.

“Hmmm…what did she want?”

“To talk to us…” Hunter continued, moving his lips up to his mate’s ear.

“About what?”

Pausing, Hunter said, “She didn’t say…and I didn’t bother to ask. I figured if I was supposed to know she’d have told me.” Feeling his mate’s body suddenly tense up, he asked, “What’s the matter?”

“You don’t think she’s gonna tell me it’s time for me to learn how to use my powers…do you?”

“No…simply because you are in France instead of home with Jackson, who needs to be around to help you with them. And besides, if that was it, she would have told me.”

“Then what could it be?” Fionn mumbled to himself, biting his lower lip. His life finally had achieved some semblance of order and the last thing he wanted was to return to uncertainty.

“Pet,” Hunter said, licking Fionn’s mating scar and smiling at the shiver it caused, “When I call Jackson tonight, I’ll ask him if he knows. If it has anything to do with your power, Oracle would have told him…okay?”

Nodding, Fionn whispered, “I appreciate that, mate…and maybe if he doesn’t know, would you ask him to talk to her? I think you’re right…Oracle would talk to Jackson if it had anything to do with my power.”

“Consider it done. Now…what about watching the boys while Carson and Remy are gone?”

Chapter 39

“Are you gonna call Willow?” asked Sawyer, watching Glenn sit down at the table in the conference room.

“Willow’s your mother, right?” asked Alex.

“Yeah…but…”

“Do you think she’ll be angry your mates aren’t tigers?” Alex asked.

“What? No, she’s not like that. Love is more important to her than who you love. Knowing I have two Fated Mates will make her very happy. It’s just…”

“She’ll want to meet us,” Alex said.
