Kaia raised his hands in supplication. “Just give me a chance to explain.”

“Giving you that chance implies I’m open to forgiveness or reconciliation. I willneverforgive you. I want you to fucking die.”

Diesel envisioned taking out his gun and blowing Kaia the fuck away. He had to get Rebel away first.

“We’re so good together and I care about you so much.” Kaia sounded close to tears. “Don’t…I-I love you.”

It didn’t surprise Diesel that Kaia resorted to that tactic. Diesel employed similar emotional manipulation to get what he wanted from the opposite sex, too.

Rebel studied Kaia. “You do?” she asked with a surprising amount of hope.

“Yeah, babe. I do. I love you so fucking much. Give me a chance to prove it. I’ll never cheat again.”

“Okay,” she said with a nod.

“Thanks, babe.”

“Because I will never give you the fucking chancetocheat again,” she snarled. “Fuck you and your bullshit words. I don’t fucking believe you. You don’t fucking love me if you don’t respect me. Respect would’ve been telling me the fucking truth. I would’ve been upset but you fucking humiliated me. You made me a laughingstock to those soon-to-be dead bitches—”

“Uncle Christopher won’t kill them,” Devon said in exasperation.

“Oh, yes, the fuck he will,” Rebel said viciously. “Because I’m telling Momma and she’ll make him do it.” She pointed at Kaia. “And you, motherfucker, will watch Fia die.”

Kaia took a step toward her, but she backed away, halting him.

If I’m right about one thing, I’m positive CJ set me up just to get me off their backs about wanting to go out with a boy.” Rebel shrugged. “No, biggie.”

CJ winced. “It doesn’t take away how much the motherfucker like younow. I couldn’t make him do that.”

“Rebel, I’m so fucking sorry,” Kaia said in a pleading tone. “But please don’t have Fia killed because of my stupidity. I’m sorry she told you—”

“Fia didn’t open her fucking mouth. Neither did Tauriel. As a matter of fact, she was trying to spare me.”

“Reb—” Kaia started.

“Would you motherfuckers leave her alone?” Axel snapped. “You all do shit to Mom and Reb then try to get them to fucking listenafteryou hurt them when you needed to follow your own fucking advice in the first fucking place.” He beckoned Jana. “Want to come with us, bigger sis?”

Jana still stood in the fucking bikini, since no one bothered to cover her. She shook her head. “I want to stay with Diesel.”

“Jesus Christ,” Rebel said, shaking her head. “Do me a favor, Jana. Please?”

“Anything.”

“Tell that motherfucker how the fuck he made you feel and demand he treat you better.”

“Stay the fuck out of my relationship with Jana, Rebel,” Diesel barked, in knots because ofher. “One day, you’ll learn how to be in a relationship.”

“Motherfucker, the only thing watching how you treat Jana will teach me is what fucking guns I need to shoot the different fucking parts of your body. I wouldkillyou.”

“You’ve gone from wanting me to die to killing me?”

“And fucking landed at not giving a good motherfuck how the fuck I never have to look at you again as long as you get the fuck out of my face and fall off the face of the fucking earth.”

She knew her words hurt him. She knew and she didn’t give a fuck.

“Rebel—” Diesel started coldly.

“Shut up,” she snarled. “Just shut the fuck up. You have the fucking nerve to be hurt by my words and can’t understand why what the fuck you did to mehurtme.”
