“Thank you.” I squeeze her gently and press a kiss to her head.

“You’re welcome.” She lays her hand over my heart.

“I also don’t want to miss any more time with Sera.”

“I agree. I don’t want you to either.”

I pull in a deep breath. “I want to see her every day.”

She shifts to look at me.

“You do see her every day now.”

“I know, but I mean, I want to be there while she sleeps and when she wakes up. I want to be there for breakfast and to watch movies with her in the middle of the day.”

Her expression softens.

“Liam, I’m not sure I’m ready to move in together,” she says gently.

“I’m not asking you to.”

“But?”

“But I don’t want to go backward either.”

She nods slowly.

“Well, I think after this weekend, it wouldn’t be weird for her if you spent the night now.”

“Yeah?” I smile.

“We can try it and see how it goes. Most nights anyway. Or at least when you aren’t traveling.”

The idea settles warm in my chest.

“I’d like that.”

“I think we need to go slow and take our cues from Sera. Make sure she’s adjusting to having you there more.”

“And us? Are we still taking it slow?”

She hesitates.

“Whatarewe doing, Liam? I believe you that you love me, and I do love you too. But what does this mean for us long-term?”

This isn’t even a question for me.

“I’m all in,” I say.

She studies me carefully. Looking for truth in my words.

“I don’t want to lose you again.”

“Liam … ”

“I love her,” I add quietly. “But I also love you.”

“I love you too,” she whispers, then kisses my chest.
