“Yours,” she breathes. “Oh God, I’m coming!”
She wraps her arms around my neck, pulling me into her so I can barely breathe.
Just as I feel her tightening around me, my balls tingle, and I know at any minute that I’ll blow.
“Liam,” she pants.
“I’m with you, baby,” I say against her skin.
I erupt inside her and feel her pulsing around my cock.
We’re both breathing heavy as we come down. Her arms loose around me now, her body relaxed.
“Liam, I don’t want to mess this up,” she says, lifting her head and looking me in the eye.
“We won’t. I’m not going anywhere.”
She looks down, but I lift her chin with my finger.
“Hey, I mean it. I know this is happening kind of fast, but I have no doubt about my feelings for you. I love you, Alie.” I kiss her softly.
“You do?” She swallows. “Are you sure?”
“I never say things I don’t mean. I think you know that about me by now. But, yes, I’m absolutely sure that I love you.” I tuck a hair that’s fallen out of her ponytail behind her ear. “I’m madly in love with you.”
“I’m in love with you too,” she says, tears in her eyes.
We stay there for a while, kissing, whispering, and listening to the sound of the ocean waves crashing onto the shore.
It’s tender, trusting, and as I hold her, it feels a lot like home.
“We should probably go upstairs to bed.” She starts to move off the hanging bed. “I think I need to jump in the shower first. I feel a little sticky.”
“Okay, you go ahead up, and I’ll grab our clothes and meet you in the shower.”
She leans over and kisses me. “See you in a few.”
I watch her walk away, naked. Goddamn, she’s beautiful.
After picking up our clothes, finding Alie’s wineglass, and bringing the monitor and my bottle in, I make my way upstairs. She’s done with her shower by the time I get there, so I wash off quickly and join her in the bed a few minutes later.
She scoots closer to me and lays her head on my chest, her fingers tracing lazy circles.
“I’ve been thinking about something.” I rub my hand up and down her arm slowly.
“Yeah? About what?”
“I,” I pause, “I’d like for Sera to have my last name.”
Her hand stops moving on my chest. “You do?”
I nod, even though she can’t see me. “I do.”
She exhales slowly. “Okay, yeah. I … I’ll have to call the attorney to see what needs to be done to get your name added to the birth certificate.”
“Really?” I raise my brow. That was easier than I thought it would be. I really wasn’t sure how she would take my request. I mean, it stings knowing my name isn’t on her birth certificate, but I don’t want this conversation to turn in a different direction. We’re moving forward, not back.
“She’s your daughter, Liam. Of course you want her to have your name. We just need to take care of the logistics.”
