I tried to hold my serious face, but that shit lasted about two seconds before I leaned down and kissed her again, slower this time, lettin’ my lips rest against hers while she kissed me over and over like she couldn’t get enough.

When I finally started pullin’ away she chased my mouth one more time. “Okay,” she whispered. “I swear that was the last one.”

I narrowed my eyes at her. “You promise?”

She nodded real fast. “Mhm.”

I barely got a breath in before she leaned forward and stole another quick kiss anyway.

I laughed and grabbed the back of her neck. “A damn shame.”

Toni just grinned up at me like she was proud of herself.

When I finally pulled away, I grabbed my gun and set it on my lap before startin’ the car.

Toni leaned back in her seat still lookin’ at me like she had our whole night planned. And the way she kept smilin’ told me I wasn’t gettin’ no sleep once we got home.

When we made it back to the crib, Toni only gave a nigga an hour to do what I needed to do before it was time for “us” to go to bed. It was crazy how now I had to sleep when she slept, and it wasn’t even on no sweet married couple type shit either, ‘cause Toni was treatin’ my ass like a personal service, like I was on call.

Even though I had just left Pressure’s not long ago, we got on the phone and started choppin’ it up about some business shit. With me not bein’ able to go to my other shop right now, I knew I needed to start poppin’ up at the ones that was still movin’ and makin’ sure my name stayed attached to every dollar comin’ in. My personal clients, the ones I gave direct access to me, was still hittin’ my line askin’ me when I could work on their cars. Niggas knew I had trial comin’ up but was still tryna pull on me like I was Amazon Prime and could deliver in two days.

Pressure was talkin’, and I was listenin’, but at the same time I was watchin’ the bathroom door ‘cause Toni had been in there a minute, and I already knew what that meant. That woman wasn’t takin’ no long shower ‘cause she felt like relaxin’. Nah…She was preparin’.

I wanted this baby with Toni more than anything, but I ain’t gon’ lie, the pregnancy unlocked a whole new level of her that I was not ready for.

The bathroom door finally opened, and Toni came walkin’ out naked like she owned the world. Water was still on her skin, smellin’ good as hell. Her body was soft but full, her belly round and pretty, and she ain’t even look at me like we was finna cuddle. She looked at me like I was finna get put to work.

“Yeah, this week I’mma start movin’ around,” I said to Pressure, tryna keep my voice normal even though my whole attention span had just got snatched.

Toni walked over and stood between my legs like she was claimin’ her spot, then she leaned down and put my face right between her titties like she was tryna mute me.

Pressure paused. “Nigga, I can’t hear you. You sound like you mumblin’.”

“I said I’mma hit you back,” I told him, already knowin’ my night was over.

Before he could say somethin’ else, I hung up. Toni ain’t even wait for the phone to leave my hand before she was rubbin’ on my chest and kissin’ my neck like she had been starvin’ all day and I was her plate.

I tried to play cool, like I had control, so I rubbed her waist and hips, kissed her stomach.

“We goin’ to bed.”

I blinked. “Why I gotta go to bed? I’m not no kid.”

Toni’s eyes narrowed, and I already knew I needed to stop talkin’. I smirked like I was still big dog, but in my head, I was already acceptin’ my fate, ‘cause when Toni got like this, it wasn’t no conversation. It was a schedule.

Eventually I got in bed with her, and she was already tuggin’ at my damn drawers. “I’on even know why you wore these,” she said.

“What you mean?” I asked, even though I knew exactly what she meant.

“I mean you don’t need to wear nothin’ to bed, ‘Lo.”

I licked my lips and let her do what she wanted, but I ain’t gon’ lie, layin’ here while she handled me like I was her lil’ situation had me feelin’ some type of way. When I covered my face with both hands, she busted out laughin’ like I was entertainin’ her.

“‘Lo, you act like I’m treatin’ you like…”

“A bitch?” I finished, raisin’ my eyebrows.

Toni laughed harder. “Stop. You so dramatic.”
