He could be right, but I don’t believe it’s the kind of magic he’s thinking of. He thinks someone cast an evil spell on us.

Personally, I think it’s more like a god or goddess’s magic. Something to do with fate.

Then again, if that were true, wouldn’t Dalia know that? Wouldn’t she feel the same thing?

Or does she, and we just don’t know it?

Ugh.

This shit is making my head hurt.

“She’s a beautiful woman,” Steel says, keeping his voice quiet as his eyes lift to make sure we’re not being listened to. “But something more is going on here. The last thing we need to do is kill one of the Fates. We don’t need to add that to the slew of acts we’re working on atoning for.”

I stare at him, hating the uncertainty I see in his eyes.

The only people who can see areiter’sincorporeal head are otherreiters. It’s not like looking at a corporeal head like everyone else in this room has. It’s more like a hint of what should be there. It’s completely colorless and almost translucent, so I have no idea what color their eyes or hair are. But I can see how fucking hot they are.

And they’re all fucking mine.

We’re also the only ones who won’t die from the touch of anotherreiter.

That’s at least part of the reason Steel, Titan, and I came together in the first place. We were all so lonely, and it had been so long since we’d been with another person.

The sex was hot and filled something inside us. Love came later, but our relationship is more than sex. It has been for a long time.

There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for these two men, and I know they feel the same way.

I also feel the same way about Dalia, as do the two of them. We would’ve offered to help regardless because Renwick Vesperine is the worst kind of evil, and he needs to be stopped.

But as soon as we laid eyes on her? We knew there was no other option than to stay—nothing would be able to drag me away from Iero, knowing that Renwick was coming for her.

I never want to see panic in her eyes like that again. Or the vacant look as she lost herself in memories.

Memories of what, I don’t know, but nothing good, that’s for sure.

“I know,” I finally tell him. “But that doesn’t keep me from wishing things were different.”

Titan grunts. “Don’t we all? I’ve been fucking hard since she opened her mouth.”

I throw my head back as I laugh, ignoring the looks shot in our direction. Let them look—I don’t give a fuck what they think about us.

Except Dalia, of course.

“You and me both, brother,” I tell him, reaching behind Steel to slap a hand on his shoulder.

Steel lets out a growl, knocking my hand away from Titan. “Can you be serious for a single moment, Blaze?”

I sober quickly, running my tongue across my teeth. “You’ve never had a problem with my behavior before.”

“And I don’t now,” he says with a sigh. “I just… This feels different—important.”

When I feel eyes on us, I turn my head to find Dalia watching us from the corner of her eye as she greets the council members stepping into the room. We receive curious looks from all of them, but no one says anything as they sit around the table.

“I know, Steel. I know,” is all I end up saying as I continue to watch the woman who has caught all of our attention.

She’s important.

I don’t know why or how, but I have no doubt that meeting her is going to change our lives.
