“Ay, get yo’ ass back, Lord.” I frowned. “Walkin’ up on me like a fuckin’ groupie.”

“My fault, G, I’m just a fan.” He chuckled. “I wanted to get with you about a feature.”

“A feature?” my brows dipped further. “It look like I’m on that right now, Lord?” I eyed him. “You want to talk music, holla at my manager, my nigga. Move fo’ yo’ ass be roadkill.” I warned as I hopped in my ride.

As soon as my engine came to life, I burned rubber getting out of there. Lord had hopped the fuck out of the way just in time. I laughed to myself as I watched him climb to his feet in myrearview mirror. Frog text me to let me know they were about to handle business. I shot him a quick text back then headed toward my girl’s crib.

When I got there, I used the code to get in. I’d been meaning to make her get some cameras put up, but the shit kept slipping my mind until she said buddy popped up at her spot. Then I took care of that ASAP. I had cameras installed outside of her door, a doorbell camera, and new locks. Hell, I was tired of having to knock anyway, and I was sick of that chain, so I took that shit down too.

Diamond and baby girl were in the baby’s room dancing to whatever the fuck they were watching on the T.V. I didn’t even make my presence known right away. I just watched, recording them for a second before announcing myself.

“She need to be listening to my fuckin’ music.”

Diamond spun around to my direction and smiled.

“When did you get here?”

“Just now,” I answered, making my way deeper inside the room. “Why the fuck you ain’t checkin’ yo’ cameras?”

Her smile widened as she walked into my embrace. “I didn’t know you wanted me to watch them around the clock.”

“I don’t, smart ass, but I at least want yo’ ass to check yo’ notifications.”

“I do, but we were having fun,” she smiled at her niece before kissing her chubby ass cheek.

“She don’t even like listening to this shit,” I said, reaching for her. She was smiling and shit now when someone talked to her, so she was all gums as I took her from her aunt. “Ain’t that right, Baby Lord, you fuck with that street shit don’t you.”

“Say no I don’t,” Diamond cooed.

I smiled at them both before asking, “You packed y’all shit?”

She nodded. “Our bags are in my room.”

With baby girl tucked in my arms, I made my way to her room. I’d gotten comfortable with handling her now. Before, I was too scared to really hold her and shit because she was too small. I’d just fuck with her while she was lying down or while her aunt had her, but now I felt comfortable enough to hold her. Hell, Diamond basically forced it on a nigga the first time.

I saw that she had three fucking bags packed for two days, so I turned to give her the baby then grabbed them.

“You know we only gon’ be there two days right?” I glanced over my shoulder at her and saw that she nodded.

“I don’t know how the weather will be or what we’ll want to wear, so we brought plenty of stuff.”

“How you expect me to carry all this shit and her carrier?”

“I can help.”

“Fuck outa here, Lord.” I chuckled. “What I look like makin’ you carry shit while you with me?”

“Just saying.” She giggled.

I ended up taking the baby down first and getting her strapped in, then I went to get the bags after Diamond got in the car with her. Once we were all inside, we headed to the airport. We could have driven, but Miller’s Pointe was a lil’ ways out. C.F. was the middle for real, and a nigga wasn’t trying to be in the car that long.

After we made it to the PJ, we boarded, and a nigga was out. I’d just had a show then went to handle a fuck nigga, so I was exhausted. I knew my mama wasn’t gon’ let me rest when I got to her crib, so I needed to get as much sleep as I could before then.

When we landed, my pops was there to get us. I had whips at their crib, but he insisted since he hadn’t seen me in a minute, andbecause my mama had already met Diamond. He hadn’t shut the fuck up about me letting her meet Ma first. They acted like me having a girl now was some life changing event. He’dcalled me and congratulated me like I’d gotten my first job or some shit.

“Son,” he grinned when I descended the steps.

“What’s good, Pop?” I set Diamond’s suitcase down, dapped him up, then hugged him.
