My heart melts in my chest. This man, he knew from the moment he met me that I was it. How could I have ever pushed him away?
“Don’t tear yourself up, Sunflower. I kept the faith for both of us.” Callum leans in and gives me a quick kiss on my forehead, and I can feel my cheeks warm. “There is that sunlight I have been missing.”
“Ky, Ky.” A very drunk Nyx stumbles over to my seat. “Speech?”
“Nope, I gotta give you one tomorrow, I’m not doing it today either!”
“Fine.” She pouts before leaning into me and wrapping her arms around me from behind. “This is our happily ever after, and we get to finally be sisters.”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa. Let’s not rush things, Nyx.” We both laugh because let’s be honest, we know.
CHAPTER 43
KYRA
Chernobyl sounds like it is melting down this morning. The alarm going off is making my head throb.
“Fuck off!” Nyx groans from the other side of the bed. We both slept in last night.
Cal tried to usher me back to his room last night after a few too many tequila shots. Nyx put an end to that right away.
“Nyx, come on.” Cal pouts, and it’s adorable. “I just got my girl back. Let me have this night.”
“Nope. No way, big guy. She can play with your jewelry tomorrow night.” She grimaces as she says that and then shakes her head to wipe the image out of her mind.
“What jewelry are we discussing, Little Witch?” Graham walks up and slings an arm over Nyx’s shoulders.
“Nothing.” I try to change the topic. “Nyx is claiming me for tonight, and your brother is pouting about it.”
“Let the girls have their night, Little Bro. Let’s go put them to bed.” Graham scoops Nyx up in his arms. Cal follows suit, and I am swept up in a bridal hold as well.
Demitri left the dinner an hour or so ago, just before midnight. He made some big deal about not seeing the bride on the day of the wedding.
“I am her actual husband. I refuse to start our marriage with bad luck.” He murmured before he left the room where we had all been partying. Graham totally gave him a quick jab to the ribs for claiming he was her actual husband. Nothing too hard, just hard enough to make his point. Once the guys carried our drunk asses to our room, they tucked us in.
Groaning, I open my eyes and look around the room. On the end table by my side, there is a giant bottle of red Gatorade, my favorite, and some Excedrine.
He even takes care of you when he’s not here.
Sitting up in the giant bed, I snatch the drink and chug some of it. Hoping that the electrolytes will revive me.
“Rise and shine, sleepyheads,” Molly’s drawl echoes through the room.
“Ugh, someone turn the Georgia peach off, please!” Nyx groans, covering her head with her pillow.
“Morning, Molls,” I raise my Gatorade bottle to her in a cheers motion. At that moment, the door bursts open again.
“Wake up, my beautiful girls! We have a wedding to get ready for!” Alyra’s smiling face comes into my view.
“Argh. Who the fuck stuck sunshine up Aly’s ass?” Nyx groans. “Isn’t that your job, Kyra?”
We all laugh at Nyx. Molly and Aly take their suitcases and garment bags into the giant walk-in closet. I have never seen a closet this big in a hotel room, but this is the bridal suite. I guess we need space to get ready.
“I’m going to go shower.” I climb out of the gigantic bed and head for the shower.
Graham stands at the entrance to the forested path to the ceremony site. We watch him adjust the sleeves of his Dress Blues. He takes off his cover and fiddles with his hair, then places the hat back on his head and adjusts his uniform yet again.
“He’s just as nervous as I am, I swear.” Nyx stands just behind me, watching her fiancé through the glass.
