I lap at his head, his come leaking out more. I take him in my mouth, my tongue running all over him until he thrusts in and out, keeping out of my throat.
“I’ll blow on your face, Lennon, you don’t have to swallow.” He moans, his whole body tightening.
I shake my head and open my mouth wider for him before I start massaging his knot. His hips flick before he uses his long fingers in my hair to draw me closer, giving me what I want. Noah grunts as he comes, his come hitting the back of my throat, and it feels like he doesn’t stop.
Looking up at him, his eyes are almost closed, but there’s no way he can hide the look in his eyes. “You’re my forever girl, Lennon. Come back for me.”

LENNON
We make it to the airport before the fun starts. Joe Junior, the manager of the private charter service I use looks bereft at being the one to have to tell me.
“Valak Couser is on a government watch list?” I splutter in disbelief.
Joe rubs the back of his neck as he spins the computer screen around so we can see the alert for ourselves.
“Sweet girl, I wish it wasn’t me telling you this. I’ll go change the batteries in my security system. It means the cameras recording back to the Department of Transport will be offline for ten minutes. The video feed from a few minutes ago gets deleted. That’s all I can do without raising any red flags. If I could, I’d be jamming this bulletin up the government’s ass, but Nolene’s about to go into labour, and I can’t risk her.”
“Joe! Get your ass out of here!” I screech, reaching over to give Joe a hug before pushing him away. The man is huge, built like a lumberjack complete with a hidden heart of gold.
Joe and his pack have saved my butt on more than a few occasions, and in return, I have saved theirs, by investing enough money for the company to keep afloat during some tough times.
He walks into the back office while the four of us reread the alert word for word. Valak is wanted for questioning in relation to a missing government official being taken from Darlington. Unsurprisingly, the date the police are saying the offence took place is the same day I called for help.
Lincoln growls, and Gabe reaches past him to use the mouse to zoom in on the picture of Valak on the bulletin. The photo is super grainy, but it’s indisputably Valak, and the registration of his car behind him is pretty clear too.
“Jesus Christ, is that from the carpark?” Lincoln’s growls are getting louder, and I reach over to rub his shoulder. He snags my hand and the rumbles stop.
“Okay, hang on,” Gabe growls as he grabs his laptop out of his bag. He sets himself up on Joe’s desk and pounds the keyboards until he has a series of screens open. “Len, come watch me do my magic.”
Lincoln guides me towards Gabe, and then I get caged between his laptop and him. Before he does anything, he presses his nose to the column of my neck, addressing the reason why my scent is off. “Len, focus on what we can do. We always knew something was going to happen.”
And then he gets to work, his fingers flying over the keyboard. The black screen scrolls down, red lines of text flash up and he adds more commands making a series of grainy video records overlay each other. He lines them all up, then we watch what happened in the carpark.
The video feed streams from every floor, and includes cameras on the entry and exit. It’s not a constant feed which surprises me, but Gabe explains to do that you’d need a huge server. Everyone goes radio silent when the man and the woman climb out of their van. I’m hidden from view for some of it. It’s strange watching it on the screen but there is no sugar coating what everyone sees. I very nearly got taken.
Valak explodes in a ball of fury. I whimper against Gabe’s hold. And Ares releases a threatening growl, coming to stand at my feet. Valak puts his back to me so I can’t see his face, but I can still feel his anger biting against my skin. He scents like an alpha about to go feral. A second later, he punches a hole in the wall before he squats down in front of it.
Gabe cuddles me to his chest, murmuring in my ear but he turns my head so I have to watch Valak’s volatility. “Look at him, all that rage and emotion is because of how much you mean to him, butyounever have to fearhim. My brother was born to protect you, Len. We all were, but he needs to get that rage out of him, so we can make some good decisions.”
“I’m not scared of this side of Valak.” But that doesn’t make it easy to watch. I push out of Gabe’s hold and climb into the small space between Valak and the wall. His warm brown eyes are haunted when they search my face, and the feral rumbles spilling out of his chest get louder, but I push my way past his defences and take a place, snuggling under his chin. “I’m okay, Valak.”
“Lennon, you kind of skirted around what they did to you.” Valak’s talking through his teeth, and I trail my finger over his jaw hoping it helps him calm down.
“But did you see how good Ares and I did?” I ask.
“Of course I did. You’re a fucking spitfire, but, Lennon, my heart nearly fucking stopped. You’ve got to know they’re dead. I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t demand their death for what they did to you.”
“You don’t do it without me being there with you. The deal is I’m there, okay?”
“Lennon,” Lincoln is the one that loses it then.
“You’ll be with me too. All of us together. Otherwise, I can’t let you do it.”
“And then my side of the deal is you don’t omit bullshit like the exactness of what happened from me again. Okay?” Valak’s more feral than not, but it’s easy to lean up and seal our deal with a kiss. He accepts it readily then flicks his head. “Give me a second.”
I go straight to Lincoln, and much like Valak, his eyes are full of a whole lot of emotion. Not surprisingly, a lot of his anger is directed at me, and even before he grits out how pissed he is at me right now, I’m apologising to him. His hand cups under my chin, and there is no way to misinterpret his firm hold on me. “You don’t ever put yourself in that sort of situation again. Do you understand me? No matter what…”
