“Ares, relax,” I soothe, and while he’s still working he’s in a different mindset than when we were in the garage.

Noah leads me to his bedroom. Which is where I see exactly what he meant. Besides the photo of Noah’s sister, there’s nothing in here that looks like him.

“Sit,” he says, pointing to the edge of his bed. And it’s not a demand or an alpha bark, it’s Noah being Noah.

He disappears into his walk-in closet but returns within a few minutes. A new briefcase and a small bag with him. Dropping the briefcase in my lap, Noah opens the bag and starts packing.

“Open that, Lennon. No arguing about what you find.”

“And that makes me anxious.”

“It shouldn’t,” he says, returning with an armful of his clothes and possessions. While he packs, he says, “In the bag is a copy of my important papers. Things you need to have with you or at least be aware of. I’ve got the originals in a locked box with Baxter Bank, but now we’re pack, Lennon, this has to be yours. All the codes and keys for my security boxes are in there too.”

“Noah,” I stammer under the realisation of what he’s giving me. Pretty much everything he has never shared with another person.

“What?” he snaps. He lashes out angrily, but I suspect he’s instantly read me wrong, being overly Noahish. Noah has been hurt before, and lost his sister suddenly, he’s always had an issue with people disappearing on him, but more of it is lack of faith that they’ll come back.

“I’ll be here when you finish your roster, I promise. All I need is a key to your unit.”

He shakes his head and pulls me in for a cuddle. “Sorry, that was uncalled for. But at the same time, I need to do this. Please let me give you all this. I want to share it with you, and I apparently want you to have it right now.” He gives me a coy little look that goes with the tiny smile on his face.

“I’d take anything you gave me.” I stand up on his bed before dropping my forehead to his. “But Noah, just so you know, I don’t want to leave you. I’m not leaving you. You know that, right?”

“Come shower with me. Fill my memory with you being here, not going,” he says, but it’s not sad, it’s just the truth. I’m undressing before he is.

Ares sits where I point on the floor, and I leave the bathroom door open enough so he can see me. I wasn’t joking before about my dog getting moody. It will happen.

Noah gets the water right, while I lean into his back. But his skin on mine is like rolling around on the softest satin sheets. He steps in, making me walk with him, and then he spins me around and wraps me up in another huge hug, the water cascading over the both of us.

“You’ll be careful. And even though I won’t be able to get back to you, text me and let me know you made it home. Let me know what you’re doing.”

“Of course,” I mumble, my lips on his chest, the need to wash his worries away taking hold, making me touch him everywhere I can.

“Send over a contract for me to sign too. I’m sorry I was such an ass over the past few months. I got caught in a rut and figured that was my life, if that makes sense. Now, Lennon, I don’t want to be alone. I trust you with my career, I mean you’ve laid out what you want me to do so many times. I want you to fix it though, so that I’m not away from you.”

“Noah, we’re only talking a few days.”

“We’re talking the rest of our lives, Lennon. Like Valak said, pack and lovers aren’t part-time. The past few days have only proven how much I need people around. How much I need you with me. I’m trying not to think about what would have happened if I didn’t show up that night, but it freaks me out, if I’m honest.”

And then he stops talking and just holds me like I’m delicate crystal. But his sweet confessions have made my heart race and my core throb. Pushing my shoulders against his arms, I force him against the shower wall before I all but pounce on him. Noah goes from sugary sweet to rock fucking hard in an instant.

The steam from the shower intensifies the way he makes my scent change. Every part of me all but pines for him.

“You, Dr. Teo are under my skin. Thank you for your honesty, it gives me lots to hold on to, but now I want to leave you with another thing to remember me by.” I lean in and lick him, sucking on the wet hair on his chest, biting my way down his body until I am kneeling in front of him. “Fill my tummy with your come, Noah.”

He groans before he rocks back on his heels, staring up at the ceiling for a few breaths. Every part of him responds. When he looks down at me, his jaw is locked shut, his eyes full of heat. His peppery scent coats him, and when he wraps his hands around his cock, presenting it for me, I taste it on his skin.

I wrap my hands around the backs of Noah’s thighs for balance, and he runs his hand up and down his thickness, just letting the tip glide in my open mouth. He’s all I can taste as I lap at his velvety head. One lick is not enough. I lean in and he lets me have a little bit more of him. But not all, as his hand stays wrapped around his cock.

“Lennon, baby, how am I meant to focus on work when you leave me with this memory. I’ve never seen anything more distracting than you kneeling before me, with my cock in your mouth.”

“Let me have it then,” I whine.

His hand falls away, and I all but inhale his whole length. Giving Noah head is such an experience. He’s so wide but also so responsive and doesn’t hide the way it feels. His low rumbling groans make me shiver, and his breathing picks up like he’s running a marathon.

“Suck me like that,” he hisses out when I hollow my cheeks. He holds me in place when my nose is pressed against his knot, his ass clenched tight as he does small punchy thrusts down my throat. And then he drags his dick slowly out my mouth before he rubs his leaking cock head over my lips.

“More,” I say, already feeling like I’m about to jump into free fall, my pussy dripping. It’s Noah’s firm, tentative touch that gets me off.
