Xander cut me off, “Both of you promise to keep it a secret until Melanie shares the answer with the larger group.” Cayden snorted, “I’d be tempted to sell blood for the damn answer at this point. You have my word that I’ll keep a secret until the meeting later this week.” Micah said, “Ditto.” Xander smiled at me then winked at Cayden who frowned.

I started playing with my sleeve. I whispered, “So… I… don’t exactly… have a boss… it’s well…. me… and….” Cayden yelled, “WHAT?!” Micah exclaimed, “Shut the fuck up! That actually makes so much sense. While making no sense. How did a fourteen year old manage to create an organization like that?”

I shrugged, “With help…Hendrick and Mason gave me the start-up money, but I paid them back with interest…which annoys them deeply…but I wasn’t just trying to take their money.” Cayden and Micah looked dumbfounded.

I looked at my watch and sighed. I told them, “We need to go outside and down to the dungeons…. Xander, do you have a camera set up down there?” Cayden interjected, “I’m sorry, are we not talking about this?”

I explained, “No, we can… just later. I’ll answer all your questions that you’ve asked and probably more you now have… there’s just a man I really respect who deserves some answers. I'm sure he’s been wondering about them for a really long time.”

Cayden sighed, “I actually need to absorb this information anyway.” Micah snorted, “You’re telling us now, because you’re worried you’ll blurt it out to Ezra when you question him. Max already linked me who is outside and I’m guessing it’s about him.” I nodded.

Xander said, “We do have a viewing area with cameras.” I kissed his cheek, “Let’s… get outside then. This is going to be amess.” Xander popped our group outside. EJ and Eric raised an eyebrow at us. For once, they weren’t looking at me though. They were looking at Xander, Cayden, and Micah.

I quickly texted Tao to let him know what I’d found because I didn't want him to be blindsided. Alpha Theo said, “As lovely as the stare down is with the Black Mountain pack members, as they try to determine what information you dropped on those three for them to look like that; I want to know why I’m here with him.” He pointed angrily at Lucas Lyons.

I sighed, “I need you to give me some room here, Alpha Theo. I have answers to something I’m sure you’ve long wanted to know about. I just think you deserve to hear from Ezra’s mouth. Lucas deserves the same.”

Alpha Theo growled, “If you call him Lucas, you should call me Theo because you’ve known me longer.” I said, “Ok, Theo. You really need to hear this, and I think you deserve to know why things… happened how they did. I don’t know the why right now. I could've got it and told you later, but I think…. everyone should hear the answer firsthand. “

I heard someone munching on popcorn. Eric grumbled, “For god’s sake, Dylan.” Dylan snorted, “I’ve already got two pack links going on bets for what this is for. I’m probably right too.” Honestly, he probably was. Theo and Lucas had one thing between them. Eric sighed.

I gave Xander a kiss then we walked down into the dungeons with the group. They split off to go to the viewing area. Freya snickered, “That you totally knew about before mate told you.” Which he didn’t catch because he was on information overload. I sighed, took out my phone and texted Lux.

Me:So, you and your brothers need to be ready to console your dad… actually you and Gerard should probably get to Black Mountain… like… quickly…but like warn your brothers aboutyour dad’s emotional state. So… yeah….bringing Harrison would be good too.

Xander linked me, “The cameras and microphones are on for us to hear, but they aren’t recording.” I grabbed a chair, dragged it across the ground, and sat in front of Ezra’s cell. I told him, “Well, you’ve looked better.” Ezra growled at me.

I said, “The man you refused to raise to be a good man… who turned out to be so much better than you ever dreamed of being, sent me some interesting files of yours.” Ezra snorted, ‘You couldn’t get in them.” I scoffed, “You’ve got to be kidding.”

Ezra sneered, “You’re not the only genius around.” I laughed, “I know… my dad is one… there is a solid case for my mother in law…but she’s never been tested to officially know that… but you’re not one.. or close really. I cracked your files within an hour. Had I done more than run it through a program of mine… well, I’d have cracked it a hell of a lot faster.”

“I was busy being pulled into the Ribbon and fixing mine and Xander’s life… again. I actually went to the night your great nephew tried to mark me.” Ezra gave me a sharp look. I said, “Oh yeah, I know that Booker is the Alpha Ducant’s son. That’s not what I want to talk about though.”

Ezra laughed, “You don’t want to talk about how I used an organization for a vendetta against your family?” I said, “If you actually think that; you are nowhere near as smart as you think you are. An organization like the Ring… does not care about your vendetta. They used you and your vendetta to further their cause… which went over about as well as lead in a balloon… again not the point.”

Ezra snorted, “Fine, we can get to your point then I’ll point out why you are wrong.” I hummed, “I’m not wrong, but I’ll agree to those terms. You answer me and I’ll point out whyyou think you’re smart, but in fact you're Bobo the Clown. That works for me.”

Ezra sighed, “What’s your question?” I asked, “What did Alpha Theo’s brother do to you?” Ezra stiffened. I said, “Even before you completely sold out to the Ring, you knew about them. You offered them the perfect way to start to fracture the allies that they so DESPERATELY wanted to break apart.”

“You were paid quite a bit of money for supplying Alpha Theo’s brother’s name as an Alpha for the Ring to spell. Alpha Aaron did nothing to you… yet you watched as they made him go crazy. He wasn’t in control of his own actions.”

“The poor man was probably glad Lucas killed him. You essentially let the Ring destroy another Alpha. You gave them the dang blueprint to attack other people like you and have the actual audacity to believe it would never happen to you.”

“You let Alpha Aaron go so insane… he raped a woman he’d known most of his life. A friend of their family. You tore apart a friendship that had been there since they were pups. You broke the alliance, but it didn’t completely work, did it?”

“You separated Alpha Theo and Alpha Lucas, but not the rest of the allies. They remained allies with everyone else except each other. So, it wasn’t a complete success, but I’m sure the Ring felt it was a small victory. I know why the Ring gladly accepted your name of an Alpha to spell to cause chaos. What I don’t know is why you would give up Alpha Theo’s brother. What did he ever do to you?”

Ezra sat back clarifying, “After I answer this, you’ll let me tell me how you were the perfect tool?” I sighed, “Yeah, no I wasn’t….however, I will listen to your opinion…then tell you how dead wrong you are.” Ezra smirked, “You missed the first Alpha spelled.”

I snorted, “I know Alpha Max was spelled. He found out about Haley and was going to tell his allies. They erased hismemory and locked him in his mind. Answer my question and stop stalling.” Ezra chuckled, “I wanted Aaron’s territory, but he wouldn’t negotiate part of the land with me. So, I taught him a lesson.”

I gasped, “But you didn’t even get the land after he died! Alpha Theo took over Aaron’s pack.” Ezra shrugged. I lamented, “That’s the worst lesson ever! No one knows it was a lesson except your psycho self. It literally accomplished nothing.”

Ezra shrugged, “It’s not like I liked Alpha Theo or Alpha Lucas. It bothered Alpha Lucas that Alpha Theo hated him with a passion. It bothers Alpha Theo to hate Alpha Lucas. What no one but me understood was Alpha Theo hated that he understood why Alpha Lucas did what he did.”

“It made him feel like a bad brother. I was hoping it would make him sloppy so I could kill him and take the area, but it didn’t. Then he didn’t break with Alpha Eric in the alliance. I tried to have the Ring spell Alpha Theo too, but they thought that Alpha Eric would catch on, since he was closer to Alpha Theo than Alpha Aaron. Alpha Eric would never have believed two members of the same family went crazy.”

I frowned, “So your why for essentially driving another Alpha into madness that led to his death is because you’re a jerk. Seriously? You took Alpha Aaron’s whole life from him because he was a better man than you. That’s, just… god, you suck.” Ezra shrugged, “Now, let me tell you why you were the perfect revenge.”
