“I don’t have time for you to run or drive. Just pop in the next fifteen minutes… and uhhh bring Luna Anne…. your mate. I mean you know she’s yours… ok… the point is you’ll need her…so she should come too…that was…the point.” I hung up the phone.

Sierra snorted, “Alpha Theo going to call back.” I acknowledged, “Yes, he will, but he will come even when I don’t answer.” Next, I called Beta Dylan. He answered, “MelAshley. You might be wondering how I have your phone number. I memorized it when you called Emmaline.”

I told him, “That’s actually helpful. Are you in Blue Moon or Black Mountain?” Dylan chuckled, “As it happens, me and my lovely mate are in Blue Moon. We came to show off our wonderful watches because I took hers too.”

“My Lacy deserves all the finer things in life. By the way, I still had said watch on after shifting into my wolf and back to human form. Lacy did as well. I had to rub in the peasants noses. My brother wants one too.”

I frowned replying, “His was next to yours… and Lacy’s… so… you had to see it.” Dylan laughed, “I did see it. I just had to make my little brother jealous first. Now he can have it.” I said, “Umm ok… I need you to get Lucas and Emmaline… back here… in Black Mountain.” Dylan cooed, “Intriguing.” I added, “They… well and you… probably Lacy too… need to be here… in like fifteen minutes.” I hung up again.

I closed my eyes and tugged on my bond with Xander. He must have had a block up because his feelings of fury came through me so hard, I growled. My husband popped to me, looking around with blazing eyes.

Xander questioned, “What’s going on?” Sierra said, “I’ll just be elsewhere. Yeah, elsewhere, updating Abigail on this shit show that’s about to go down. Have fun with this Mel. Bye.” I rolled my eyes at her back. Freya chuckled, “She’s technically doing her job informing our Gamma Female.” I knew that.

I told my mate, “First… gosh… I have a list… umm you should probably tell your dad to be outside…or in the dungeons withyour mom later… his friends are going to need him. Tao sent me his dad’s files.”

“I found something that’s kind of a bombshell…. no… it actually is. Then I need you to get Cayden and Micah here… as in our room, or the general area because, I need to talk to them… just in case… because that’s fair… so… yeah… then… we need to talk… about things… and stuff. And like… space unheard… that’s a thing.”

Xander nodded, “Ok.” After a minute he announced, “Done.” He quickly did his space unheard chant then asked, “What’s going on?” Freya took over to say, “Just let Melanie get this all out. My human is very nervous, but I know you’ll be so proud.” Freya let me take back over. So, that happened.

Xander inclined his head to me. I took a deep breath, “Well… see… ok… there’s…. umm… I need to talk to Ezra about what I found. I said that… I think…. and I tend to ramble or get really upset and Ezra makes me really freaking mad.”

“Which… I think you’ll agree is fair… and before I had to keep the secret… because it was important… but now… it’s not as important… because he can’t do anything about it… and it’s not going to put anyone in danger… because he can’t tell anyone.”

“The point is I just don’t want to blurt this out without you knowing, because you should know…. your mom knows and oh god… I shouldn’t have said that… and…” Xander kissed me for several seconds.

When he pulled back, he told me, “I won’t be upset with you or my mom. What does she know? And what on god’s green earth has you so nervous?” He stiffened then said, “You got us a meeting with your boss.”

I said, “About that…” Xander interjected, “So your boss didn’t agree.” I disagreed, “No, that’s not it… that meeting… might still happen unless I get mad and blurt things. Gosh the meeting would’ve been better. I might be able to keep it together.”

Freya said to me, “Even if you don’t, I might take over and shout at that god awful man how much better my human is than he will ever be.” Xander said, “Wait, you think you’re going to get so mad at Ezra you blurt out who runs the Resistance?”

I nodded, “Yes… because he’s deeply insulting towards me and he’s not a complete idiot. So, he’s probably figured out I’m in the Resistance. Whether he wants to admit that or not I don’t know, but this… just… you’re worried. Freya says you’re torturing yourself, and I don’t want that. Because it’s totally fine, like beyond one hundred percent fine.”

Xander sighed, “Lovebug, you might think this person is your friend, but unless it’s Mason or Hendrick they aren’t.” I said, “No, it’s not them… it’s… uhhh I mean… friend… is a weird title I would not associate with…”

My husband interrupted, “Then I will worry about their motives until Cassie and my mom can question them.” I mean does one consider themselves their own friend? I was thinking no. I said, “Yeah, about that… it’s…”

Xander jolted, “Hang on. My mom knows who runs the Resistance?” I sighed, “To be fair, it was a whole patient confidentiality thing.” Xander nodded, “You discussed it in therapy.” I confirmed, “Yes, but the point is….”

Now he sighed, “I still don’t like how they treat you and I do worry you and your friends take liberties and the person in charge will be upset.” Freya huffed, “I feel our mate did not understand my words about you getting this out.” I nearly laughed.

I replied to Xander, “Well, I’m not going to get mad and punish myself for the decisions I make. That would be ridiculous.” I clapped my hand over my mouth. That was so not how I was going to say that. Xander froze and his eyes widened.

I winced, “Ok… that's not how I wanted to say that. Let’s just rewind and pause… let’s just reset...” Xander interrupted,“You’re saying that you are behind the Resistance. OH, SON OF BITCH! It’s another anagram. Estelle Mia McNair is Melanie McAlister.”

I nodded and whispered, “Manford at Modd come out to: for T, dad, and mom.” Xander closed his eyes. I said, “So, I just… wanted you to know, because like I just blurted that out with you…. and it was not how I planned it and I’m sorry… but I might make it to the meeting and….”

Xander cut me off with another kiss then pulled back to ask, “How the hell did you manage to start this at fourteen?” I studied his face. I whispered, “You’re not mad?” Xander snorted, “Mad? No. Feel the bond.”

I did and felt his immense pride and a new worry for my safety because I ran it. Mostly pride. Xander told me, “I’m impressed as hell. I wish I would’ve been there beside you to help start it. I might have suspected you if you were older.”

I said, “Yeah… that kind of worked in my favor. No one suspected the teenager.” Xander snickered, “I'm going to smack myself later.” I gasped, “Don’t do that.” Xander kissed me again. He pulled back and smiled, “I’ll keep your secret for as long as you do.”

I asked, “Why are you smiling?” My mate explained, “Cayden and Micah are waiting outside the room to come in and since I feel like I want to smack myself, I know they will too.” I rolled my eyes. I asked, “Don’t you want to talk about it more?”

Xander told me, “We will definitely talk about it more. I’m just going to digest this shock and share with two other people the insanity of this bombshell and absorb it all. I think I’m actually in shock.” I studied the bond saying, “No, you’re not. I would never let that happen.” It wasn’t good for Fairies. My husband kissed my temple.

Cayden walked into the room with Micah and shut the door. Cayden asked, “So, what’s going on? I see I have a meetingto meet your boss later. Is this about that?” Xander started laughing. I said, “So… that’s actually… you guys deserve to know ahead of time… and…”
