I didn’t recognize it as one of ours and Valentina did just steal cars sometimes. If the owner wasn’t around… they might not even know they’d had their car stolen. I knew Xander could hear everything we were saying if he had his watch. Odds were high that he was wearing it. Freya interjected, “Mate has it on.”

I sighed, “Well… I made his watch the way I did for a reason.” Freya snickered, “I know, and mate really does appreciate that. Ajax not so much.” Well, I didn’t think he wanted anything to do with me… not that I would’ve put the feature on his watch even if I had.

At least they couldn’t see what was happening. Freya found something funny about that based on her chuckle, but I had no clue why. Nor did I have time to ask. I planted the explosives and jumped onto the hood of Kingsley's car.

I felt a bullet hit my vest. Really? I’m hanging onto a car, and they shoot at me? That’s just rude. There’s no one who doesn’t think that’s rude. I wouldn’t shoot someone hanging off the back of the car.

The car tires? Fair game. The person… gosh no.

There was clearly no etiquette in a high speed car chase shootout Ring members. They were the bane of my existence. Freya agreed, “It was in poor taste. Shoot them for their audacity.” I could be fine with that.

I was starting to wonder if they put out an ad… “Recruiting any and all with no morals or without scruples. Supes welcome. The worse you are the more we like you.” I might have to look into that. Maybe they did. How else do you find people like this? Haley used a charm to find partial Fairies… maybe there was a spell for jerks.

Falling through the window of the sunroof always hurts. Especially when you’re already hurt, but again… the door was not an option. I could feel Alexander’s anger. My hair was practically standing on edge from it.

Freya said, “I’m healing you as we speak.” I could tell. I plugged in the address and Kingsley took off in that direction. Kingsley placed the explosives and jumped to the top of the building. I laughed, “That’s still such a rush.”

Kingsley smiled, “It is. You think you’d get used to it, but I don't. It’s just cool.” I told her, “You’ll have to do a superhero landing for Dylan Frost sometime. I’m pretty sure it would lead to an epic speech on his part.”

Kingsley laughed, “The man you talked about that everyone said is funny?” I nodded, “He is pretty funny, even in serious situations. It’s his thing.” Kingsley hummed, “I’ll have to meet him.” I somewhat warned her, “He’ll follow you around when he finds out what you are. Being near you will be his personal mission.”

Kingsley shrugged saying, “I can deal with a funny guy following me around that’s not romantically interested. H would kill him if it was romantic, but otherwise it’s fine.” I laughed, “Dylan is mated and very happy. He just finds certain things fascinating.”

Kingsley said, “So he finds you fascinating then, he’d have to.” I reasoned, “I’m a legend… or Freya is… but she’s my wolf, so it’s both of us. The point is… lots of people find that fascinating. At least his fascination is in a good way. There will definitely be some… not in a good way.”

Kingsley sighed, “Yeah, I’ve met those people. The Vampires in Missouri desperately want to know if the sightings are right about a white wolf. If they are, they want it. Meaning, you.” I shrugged, “Wanting doesn’t get anyone anything. It’s ironic for sure though… since they had me.”

“I get great satisfaction knowing that eventually, when everyone finds out who the white wolf is… the Ring will be eating proverbial crow. Those in charge will probably kill a whole bunch of people. Which can only be good for us. Less of the crazies running around is always good.”

Freya said, “I cannot believe they got their hands on us, but they wouldn’t have had us long if I was never suppressed. I’dhave outrun them all.” They’d have known they had the white wolf in their grasp though and it would’ve killed them inside.

Kingsley snorted, “They do seem to be one step away from losing all sense of decorum and sanity.” I muttered, “They had no decorum to begin with.” Kingsley nodded her head in agreement then said, “Well, let’s go face the music. I’ll have to have Valentina shimmer me back to my place from Nashville.”

I snorted, “Hastein will open a portal for you I bet.” Before she could ask how Hastein would know where we were, we walked through the holoport and found ourselves outside my place in Nashville. Kingsley commented “You seem certain H will be here.”

I snorted, “He is here. I can feel Xander.” Kingsley closed her eyes then said, “You’re right. H is here too. Interesting. My fun will start sooner than expected.” I asked, “Huh? Your fun? What fun?” Kingsley ruffled my hair as we stepped into the elevator saying, “You’re so cute and adorable. It’s part of why we all love you so much.” I had no idea what she was talking about.

We stepped off the elevator together and found our mates standing there with angry expressions on their faces. Xander’s eyes even had a light golden glow about them. I linked Freya, “What happened?” Freya laughed, “You are funny.” I wasn’t joking though.

The four of us had to work together to get Kingsley back to her place so she wouldn't be suspected. Everyone was making weird comments, but I let them go. When it was just Xander and myself I thought we should address his anger, but he had other… plans.

Freya snorted, “Plans? Mate wants to claim you.” I told her, “I’m not going to stop him.” I didn’t either and it was amazing. I wasn’t sure what caused this… but I hoped I could repeat it. Freya snorted, “You’ll repeat it. It’s who you are.” Ok… well good for me, I guess?

I linked Freya, “What does Xander mean he saw me get shot?” Freya answered, “He saw it.” I linked Freya, “They saw the car chase?” Freya replied, “They did. I guess the Hackura had surveillance up.” Of course they did. It must have been recent because I hadn’t flagged it.

I sighed because I should’ve had someone scan for video signals in the area. That’s what I get for being in a hurry. We argued about my in the field decisions. That wasn’t really anything new to me. My friends argued with me all the time.

In the end, I did what was necessary. I had been even more reckless in the past. Really, what Xander saw was tame in comparison. I linked Sierra, “You should mention to the group this was quite tame for me.” Sierra snorted, “Avery already tried that. It went over so poorly.” Well… it was true.

I was not about to get into the discussion of the injuries I’d sustained. That didn’t lead anywhere good based on Xander’s current mood. I changed the subject. He’d mentioned me pulling Destiny and Demi to my plane. Which got me thinking.

I asked Freya, “Can I pull anyone to our plane?” Freya said, “Any wolf or anyone who is a part of a pack. It would hurt a non-wolf if we tried to pull them, and it wouldn’t work.” I sighed because I really wanted to pull Odette… I just couldn’t confirm if she was a wolf.

I thought she was, but everyone else disagreed. Odette was honestly a mystery. If I’d had more time with her….she wouldn’t be. Odette kind of had the same feel Lux did to me, but the wolf half was missing… yet it wasn’t at the same time.

No, that was crazy. Lux would’ve told me if there was someone else like him out there. I was pretty sure about that. I couldn’t pull Odette with knowing for sure whether she had wolf blood or not… because I didn’t want to hurt her.

Ugh! Freya said, “I am sorry that I was not with you at the time. We would’ve known.” Yeah… that’s annoying. I askedFreya, “How badly would it hurt someone who wasn’t a wolf? Are we talking a headache? Or more.”
