A flame appeared from the red jewel in the form of a Dragon. Hastein groaned, “Great. My mate is the chosen one if the legend Charles spoke of is to be believed, and now everyone knows what my mate’s other half is.”

Dylan yelled, “WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! How does that sword tell us what she is?! I missed that part of the Vampire, we’ve decided to like, story. Tell it again Vampire Charles, and slower. I SHAN’T MISS THIS POINT AGAIN!”

Charles frowned saying, “I don’t know how my story tells what she is.” I slowly said, “The flame does.” Dylan grabbed the tablet from me and studied it. He zoomed in then threw it back at me, yelling, “What are you talking about? It’s just a flame! I’ve met Demons, she’s not one. Nor is she a Fire Fairy. Explain yourself, MMSGAP!”

I asked him, “You don’t see an animal the flame forms?” Dylan answered, “No, I see a flame. LGSAGP you better see a damn flame too or I’ll elevate you in status. I’ll do it. Don’t you test me!” Dad admitted, “I just see a flame too.”

Mom asked, “Really? I see it, but I suspected.” Uncle Aiden smugly said, “I see it too.” Hastein looked at his immediate family who nodded. Dylan groaned, “Oh great. Only people who know what K is see the flame take shape. OH, CRUEL UNKNOWING UNIVERSE! Life is so unfair.”

Hastein sighed in relief. I said, “It is still really cool even if you can’t see the animal.” Dylan conceded, “This is true! CPCNA has some type of chosen someone as his mate. Who is surprised? Anyone? No, cool me either. MelAshley has answers to what that is. The plot thickens! My show is the best.”

Charles hissed, “Melanie get out of there!” Hastein told me, “The place is going to blow.” I closed my eyes acknowledging, “My wife is going after Slade.” I tried to link her as fear filled me. I announced, “Melanie’s blocked me out.” Tristan howledin anger while Sam gripped Drake’s hand so hard her knuckles were white.

Sam said, “Melanie will be ok, she has to be.” I heard a helicopter start up. Charles hissed and grabbed my tablet to switch it to the roof view. I nearly broke it when my mate kicked the door down. My wife fought people then started to run. My heart stopped as I realized she was going to jump.

Gage sighed, “I hate all these plans.” I yelled, “MELANIE, NO!” I wasn’t the only one yelling. Hastein grabbed my arm to yank me back when my wife barely caught the runner of the helicopter and launched herself inside from sheer will.

My heart felt like it was sputtering in my chest. I watched in horror as the helicopter began to go down from the blast. I yelled, “GET US IN THERE!” My mate was falling out of the sky. Thank God I could hear a splash because my hearing was so good. I told the McAlister’s, “They are in the pond.” Melanie was in pain, but she was alive.

Kingsley made her way to us. Hastein’s mate smiled when she saw him. Kingsley asked, “Isn’t this sword awesome?” Hastein smiled at her. A pop sounded behind her before her sword was knocked away as Kingsley whirled around.

Hastein threatened the newcomer, “I don’t know who you are, but don’t you dare touch her.” Uncle Aiden said, “That is Rifstel O’Toole. Who has apparently been turned into a Vampire.” I looked back at the man who had fangs. Oh good.

Kingsley punched him and melted off his cheek. Dylan said, “I’ve got it everyone! CPCNA’s mate is an Ostrich, Panther, Bigfoot, Lava Monster. It’s so obvious. How did I not see that?! She is the one I needed for the blog. Obviously.”

Rifstel and Kingsley circled each other. He was losing, so he popped behind her and threw her onto the ground. Hastein was pissed. Oden linked me, laughing. I asked, “What?” My wolftold me, “Freya is upset because Melanie is jumping around the trees.”

I felt my wife getting closer, so I looked up and locked eyes with Melanie. Oden said, “They know we are mad.” I retorted, “Good.” Rifstel thought he had the upper hand, but he didn’t. Melanie jumped down and stabbed him.

Mom sighed, “Damn. Melanie should’ve beheaded him.” Uncle Aiden agreed, “True.” Rifstel popped away, the coward. Several Vampires surrounded my mate and Hastein’s which led to discussions about Mexico. I asked, “What the hell happened in Mexico?!” No one answered me.

Hastein demanded, “Someone who knows should answer him because my mate was there.” Several people gulped. Before they could answer Paige spoke, “You so do not want that answer.” Then she went back to chanting. I warned, “Dalton.” Then pointed to where a partial Vampire had Patrick.

Dalton nodded and blocked Paige’s view. That would be a fun conversation. Mom sighed, “I’m being fucking tested. Come on, Eric. Let’s go heal the damn Warlock, who is apparently royalty, and is related to the Witch I like.” I snorted as my mom popped closer, with my dad, to where Patrick was.

Kingsley and Melanie briefly talked about the sword. Melanie clearly knew all about it. Uncle Aiden said, “Something about that has to do with us. Melanie has been studying books from Faerie.” Dylan shrieked, “YES! Fairies unite with the Ostrich, Panther, Bigfoot, Lava Monster. I AM SO HERE FOR THIS ALLIANCE!” Uncle Aiden laughed.

Hastein sighed, “Great. That’s just great.” Uncle Bjourn squeezed his shoulder as our mates took down Vampires. Gage snorted, “You think it’s great?! I AM HAVING HEART PALPATATIONS!” I snarked, “You are?” Gage retorted, “Yes, me and Phil.” I rolled my eyes at him.

Another popped sounded. Mom popped back with dad. I said, “The barrier isn’t down yet.” Mom explained, “I’ll pop back. Aiden is that….?” Uncle Aiden hissed, but before he could answer Melanie said it was Aeidelyn Holloran.

I realized how my mate knew, “The diary.” Uncle Aiden asked, “What?” I explained, “Melanie was reading a diary. It had to be Aeidelyn’s.” Uncle Aiden said, “Of course Melanie was reading a diary. A Fairy would consider that inconsequential, but not Melanie.”

Someone popped behind Melanie, but she was ready. Mom shouted, “No fucking way! Two people in our family betrayed us. Aeidelyn AND Shailagh.” Uncle Aiden said, “Well, Shailagh is the one mated to the O’Toole. That was Rifstel yelling in pain because his mate was stabbed.”

The sisters were screaming. Mom snorted, “They better hope that fucking kills her before I get in there and kill those betraying, bumbling bitches. I am their DAMN blood, and I know how to fucking torture people.” Uncle Aiden winced.

My brothers and I were all furious over our own blood betraying our mother the way they had. Not just keeping the promised siblings apart, but my mother’s entire childhood. They allowed their blood to go through that. Probably even encouraged it.

Rifstel popped back and somehow popped away with the whole group. I asked, “How the FUCK did he do that?!” Uncle Aiden sighed, “He’s got a lot of earth blood in him. They were royalty for a reason. He used the earth, and the grass that was touching Kingsley and Melanie, so he could pop with them.”

I asked, “Can any of us do that?” Mom answered, “None of you showed the aptitude for it.” Uncle Aiden snorted, “That will probably be a power of one of the children you’ve yet to have, little sister.” Mom blushed while dad smirked and winked at Uncle Aiden.

Uncle Aiden’s gaze narrowed, “They seem to be protected by something. That’s why Rifstel brought them over there.” They were over by the pond. Hastein asked, “Why isn’t that O’Toole healing his mate?” Mom snorted, “Did you get the impression that O’Toole’s care about their mates?”

Charles hissed, “They don’t. They enjoy seeing anyone in pain. They are spoiled rotten children who take what they want, mistreat it, then throw it away. They just don’t want anyone else to have it either.” Paige yelled, “GO!”

Dalton grabbed her, “Paige, we need to talk.” Paige argued, “I need to get to Melanie.” Dalton gently said, “Your brother is here, Melanie freed him.” Paige jerked backwards. Patrick greeted, “Hello, sister.” Mom sighed, “I’ll heal you.”
