Honestly, Dylan probably counted on the family finding out sooner than they had. Eric’s roar of anger had people fleeing, which only made Dylan grin brighter. He must have been really bored to go through with this.

I frowned while looking at the table. Only the statues he’d ordered of Eric were down here. What about the bobble heads? I knew for a fact he had those. Emmaline popped Lucas in, eyes wide with disbelief.

I linked Emmaline, “Did Lucas not know about the statues?” Emmaline said, “No, I thought they were just for our house. Lucas hadn’t seen them yet.” I reasoned, “Maybe the bobble head is just for your house.” Emmaline’s quickly asked me, “Dylan has bobble heads?”

I answered, “He has thousands.” Emmaline groaned, “Oh dear god. Dylan must have been bored. I’ll have to link Travis. He’s supposed to make sure Dylan doesn’t go off the rails.” Emmaline commented on Statue Eric’s attire.

Freya linked, “Thor is most upset about the leash. He says that’s insulting.” To be fair… it kind of was. I just don’t think that’s how Dylan saw it. He was going for some BDSM sexualplay type thing. I was pretty sure… that was his goal. I really should’ve looked into it.

When Eric rounded the corner, I almost swore there was a little gold to his eyes. That shouldn't be possible…but I’d swear it was there. Freya hummed in my head. Ok… maybe it was there. Eric and Dylan argued. I saw several people hiding behind pillars, watching to see what would happen.

I think everyone knew if anyone besides Dylan had done this, they would be very dead. Only Dylan Frost or Haley could get away with something like this. Haley would’ve done a flattering statue though. So, really, only Dylan could get away with this.

Elise linked me, “There are no words.” I disagreed, “There are so many words one could use.” Elise winced, “Eric might really kill Dylan for this one.” I reasoned, “Eric would never really hurt Dylan. He might punch him, but I doubt that too. They are friends.”

Elise agreed, “I know. They do their little tit for tat, but this is just so over the top.” I replied, “There will be some reason, Dylan always has a reason. Part of it is going to be because he knows Eric is probably a little unsettled about becoming a god.”

Elise tilted her head, “Aren’t we all a little unsettled?” I replied, “Yes… and this is one hell of a distraction.” In the wrong tone, but Dylan didn’t think of it like that… clearly. Elise nodded her head in agreement.

I’d studied Dylan Frost and his behavior. He was funny, and he timed things very well. He always wanted to get under Eric’s skin, but a lot of the over the top things he did aligned with very serious things going on with Eric or the larger group.

I was positive it was Dylan’s way of giving Eric a different outlet for his anger or giving him something else to focus on. I was really trying not to laugh at their back and forth. I was positive it would not help the situation.

I was surprised when Eric made the table along with the statues explode. I didn’t know he got that power from Haley. I linked Elise, “Did you know he could do that?” Elise said, “I didn’t.” That was good. They kept that was as a very well hidden and off the Supernatural Council’s radar secret. Now it was out, but they kept it a secret for a long time. That was impressive.

Travis Frost came into the room holding one of the statues in his hand. He told Lucas, “I just saw someone with one. I bought it off them, but a lot of people have them.” Lucas said, “Yeah, I know.” Haley convinced Eric he should calm down.

Xander convinced Dylan not to sell any more. This wasn’t good. No one was mentioning the bobble heads. He could just sell those. I realized what else Dylan wanted to accomplish by selling these statues. He wanted Haley to pull a prank on him. He was giving everyone a distraction, including himself. It was smart… just missing one factor.

Then Dylan said I was going to make the Summit fun. I grumbled to Freya, “I’m not planning to do anything. I didn’t even take any meetings this year because I just wanted to enjoy the experience. I’ll probably sit in on a few meetings with Elise, but that’s hardly anything to write home about.”

Freya chuckled, “Sure.” I gasped, “I’m right!” Freya said, “Yes, but you’re you.” Huh? Aiden popped in. He was deeply amused and shared the opinion I was going to do something fun. I had no idea what they were talking about.

I wasn’t going to do anything. I wanted to meet some new people, see some people I knew, and have a drink by the pool. That’s it. It was not what they would consider any fun… and ok… I’d probably bring my computer because relaxing wasn’t… exactly my thing… but that’s it. These people. Jeez.

The rest of the day passed without incident. People seemed smart enough to keep the statues in their rooms. Or at the veryleast, out of view of anyone with the last name Conners. The next day, we were all waiting for Eric and Haley by the elevator.

Dylan was practically bouncing from foot to foot with anticipation. Anyone else in his shoes would be hiding from Eric, but not Dylan Frost. I noticed his brother, Travis Frost, was also nearby. He was a good little brother. I sent him a little wave. Travis looked amused that I'd noticed him and nodded back.

Dylan was overjoyed Eric was paying him for the statues he blew up. That was actually really funny. Sierra linked me, “You just have to love Fairies and their idea of being fair.” I agreed, “You really do. Except that means Haley is likely to make an interesting statue of Dylan.” Sierra laughed in our link agreeing, “Or Eric will tell her what he wants, and that will be what Eric does. Haley might do something else.” That was true too. There were many possibilities.

Haley had a new statue of Eric that was much more flattering and along the lines of her statue. Which she was clearly doing to the detriment of her own psyche, because she was right. A lot of women would buy that statue and whisper about it.

At least she didn’t have our hearing so she couldn’t hear them. I wondered if Eric knew she’d done it just for him. Well, she did it for Dylan too. Plus… the psyche thing… for her… had to be next level. Haley couldn’t have the statues Dylan originally sold out there.

Haley basically got the group back on task. We were going to the brunch for the Alphas mates. Xander and I kissed goodbye. Sierra winked at me as she went off to the lunch for the Betas mates. Addison met her halfway there with Everly.

I stiffened by reflex then chastised myself, “Everly didn’t send those letters. UGH!” Why was it so hard to get over her letters as opposed to everyone else? Freya answered, “Because you never met her, and she’s not blood related to you.”

I replied, “She’s family though… and I’ve always helped her.” Freya agreed, “You have and as much as it sucks, that makes it the hardest to get over because you don’t feel indebted to forgive her like your family members. You’ve made great progress and had conversations with her.” Well that just sucked.

I shook that off and walked into the brunch a step behind Micah and Cayden. I heard one table start whispering, “Ugh, don’t they know this is for Lunas? They shouldn’t be here. The men are doing other things.”

I glanced sharply at their table. It was Luna Lena Sail and her daughters with some of other Lunas friends. Luna Lena sighed, “Some things just aren’t sacred now that we’ve got mixes of every little thing out there. It started with Haley, now her pups are just as entitled as she is.”

I hadn’t realized I’d stopped walking until Elise linked me, “Melanie, we all sat down.” I looked at Cayden who was sitting and gave no indication he heard their table. Micah looked a little out of place though. This was going to stop.

I asked, “Haley, could you conjure me a sharpie?” Haley answered, “Of course.” My mother in law conjured me a sharpie and I walked back over to the sign that said, ‘Lunas Brunch’. I heard the gasps as I began to black out the word ‘Luna’ with the sharpie.
