Melanie linked, “I did stop two trucks in transit.” Good. EJ asked, “Melanie, how did you find out about the other deals he tried to make?” Wesley added, “Or about the banks?” Melanie started to pick at the hem of her dress.
I snorted, “You hacked him.” Melanie explained, “I hacked a few people. I also sent T and Malachi emails about their meetings. Well…. ok… I sent you and EJ one too… and Toby andPhil about which proposals were good and which ones needed work.”
“Gage and the other Gamma’s were copied… so they are aware too. Only a few are bad. With the number of meetings you guys have, that’s not really terrible. When you go over the ratio… how you schedule them is very inefficient though… and it could bother people… that could probably fix them.”
Oden cackled in my head. EJ snorted, “That should make the meetings go by quickly. Next year, we’ll have certain people named Melanie review the schedule.” Melanie offered, “Or… I could just be in charge of how to schedule the meetings…while coordinating with Dylan on the space.” Dylan screamed, “YES!” I smirked.
Emmett Daniels linked me, “Your scary techy Luna has struck again. Malachi showed me her email. How does she get all this information?” I admitted, “Illegally, mostly.” Emmett said, “Do me a favor and keep her firmly on our team.” I agreed, “Sure.”
We broke from our meetings around lunch time. I saw Emmett bolt into the hall, so I popped to him. I asked, “What’s wrong?” Emmett answered, “One of our Warriors linked that Keaton got in a car accident and there are rogues are involved. I need to get to him.”
I offered, “I’ll pop you there.” Malachi ran out. He said, “I’ve got this, Alexander.” Anne, his partial Fairy / Hood sister popped to him. I told them, “We can come with you.’ Emmett said, “If they hurt my brother, I’ll call you all in. Currently, those bastards are mine.” Malachi grabbed Anne and she popped them away.
Our allies were on edge. Lexi and Chase had been popped out too. Alexandria was running all of Yellow Hills meetings. Melanie decided to help her, because Alexandria was rip roaring mad Emmett had left her here when she wanted to help with Keaton.
Alexandria was really worried about her brother in law, which was fair. Oden agreed, “Storm is quite upset.” That was Alexandria’s wolf. I replied, “I know that because it is written all over her face. Emma Frost was the first one to get popped back in and she had a smile on her face. We all waited for her to say something.
Emma announced, “Keaton is fine. My parents got him released from the hospital. Well, once we found him.” I frowned, “How could you not find Keaton? Wasn’t he in the pack hospital?” Emma laughed, “No, he was at one of the regular human hospital.”
EJ questioned, “Why?” Emma answered, “His new girlfriend from his school stumbled upon the accident. She fought off the rogues with a golf club. Thank god she didn’t kill any of them. Keith said she didn’t know about Supernatural’s.”
“I’m pretty sure she would’ve freaked out if they’d shifted back into humans. Keith had to order the pack to stay back while she dragged Keaton into her car. He was unconscious. Grandpa Frank and Isaac went to bail her out of jail and make it all disappear.”
I rubbed my temples demanding to know, “Why was she taken to jail?” That news irked everyone I had bond with, we just had no idea why. Maybe it was because Keaton was our parents godson. That had to be it.
Emma bit her lip, “In her concern of getting Keaton to the hospital, his new girlfriend was speeding, ran several traffic lights and did not pull over for the police pursuing her. I’m actually sad I haven’t met this Katie girl yet.”
“I told Grandpa Frank he had to give me the full rundown after meeting her. I’m pretty sure she’s madly in love with my brother. Katie told the police officers they could arrest her after she got Keaton inside.”
“Keaton woke up after they’d taken her away. My little brother wasn’t happy about that. I’m going to send Katie a cake, because I think Katie is why Lisa is finally out of Keaton’s life. I think he likes the new girl.” Think was a word given Emma clearly knew. Oden offered, “She’s clearly fishing to see if someone has more information.” More than likely.
Dylan said, “Hmmm, I find all that very interesting. Yes, Dylan does. Someone do something about all the adrenaline I have from preparing to go save the young Alpha Daniels from rogues. He’s apparently fine and does not need saving.”
Dad dryly offered, “I’ll spar with you, Dylan.” Dylan asked, “Did I say I had adrenaline to get rid of? Silly me. I’m perfectly fine on my own. If anyone needs me, I’ll be running around the halls, for no reason whatsoever. Certainly not because of excess energy that needs to be burned off. No Siree. Dylan is just fine.” He took off leaving all his sarcastic comments behind.
Emmett popped back in smirking and Alexandria hit him on the shoulder. His Luna growled, “You are so lucky Melanie helped me with all your meetings and mine. Yours are awful. Seriously. I would rather watch paint dry.”
Emmett howled with laughter and kissed his wife hard. When he pulled back my friend said, “Thank you, Luna Melanie.” Without looking at her. Alexandria began to detail all the things Melanie got them in their dealings. Before asking for details about Keaton and Katie.
I grabbed Melanie, popped up to our room, and snapped us both drinks. My wife dramatically sat down on the seat and huffed, “Man this is a lot of work. My mom talked about going to brunches and a few meetings she had with Chelsea. Then she said they sat by the pool with their friends and had fun.”
I laughed, “Yes, well you changed the dynamic.” Melanie frowned, “I think rogues did by causing Keaton to get in anaccident. Then Katie… showed up and found him… and there’s only one possibility of how that came to be.”
I asked, “What?” Melanie explained, “I actually think it’s the highest probability because if she were hanging out with Keaton they would be riding together. It’s interesting. Alexandria… who told me to drop her title… got a text from former Luna Lexi. She overheard the nurses saying Katie whispered about just feeling like she had to be on that road. That’s…. interesting.”
It was, but it was not what I cared about at the moment. I grabbed her drink and set it aside. I put both my hands on the armrests of her chair, caging her between it and me. I let my possessiveness and lust flood our bond.
Melanie gasped and the scent of her arousal filled the air. I said, “I told you what would happen if Alpha Sail hit you.” Melanie frowned, “Yes, but that was to take him down. It was barely a hit really. Even T agreed on that point. He’s pretty sure he could take Alpha Sail… and I agree with him.”
“Alexandria and I talked my big brother… out of hunting that Alpha down. At least I think we did. It was a whole thing… because I proved T could win…. using data… I still did text Jase to…” I cut her off and kissed her harshly.
I pulled back stating, “I was quite clear that you were not allowed to take a single hit. Now, my lovely wife, I’m going to punish you.” Melanie’s curiosity, love, and excitement were present in our bond. I smirked at her. This was going to be fun.
Never a Dull Moment
Melanie wasn’t surprised to see Dylan’s eyes sparkling when he saw Xander. I bit my lip, knowing Dylan had probably been waiting for one of the Conners or their mates to find out. Freya sighed, “Don’t blame yourself. I know your thoughts are already trending in that direction.”
I reasoned, “Well…if I had seen the statue, I’d have pointed out to Dylan that… umm… Haley will have feelings about the collar. Since, umm… Damon’s. Dylan would’ve picked a different statue because of her feelings. He never wants Haley, or anyone, to feel bad.”
