Lexi said, “He’s dealing with something, but I think he was hoping to have plans with someone else.” I asked, “Who?” Lexi said, “Someone I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting. Keaton might be by later on.” I nodded but that was odd.

I was about to follow Keith when I saw him talking to Preston. If anyone could figure it out, then Preston could. I saw Angelafrowning in the corner. I walked over asking, “What’s wrong, little one?” Angela sighed, “I haven’t read all the books Melanie got for me yet. Something is off with my visions. It’s different then it was with Melanie, but it’s still blurry and I find that highly annoying.”

I asked, “What’s blurry?” Angela said, “I tried to see who Keaton was with. He was with Melanie and then he just vanished. Like poof gone, and he doesn’t make the party.” I asked, “Why is he with Melanie?”

Angela said, “She saw him out on her run, and they talked about some girl.” I asked, “Lisa?” Angela said, “No her name is Katie, but that feels wrong.” I asked, “Why?” Angela shrugged, “I don’t know and I don’t like not knowing things.” My little sister walked away, and I heard someone sigh.

I turned around and found TJ standing there with Allison. I asked, “Problem?” TJ snorted, “Just this deal with Angela. You know that our sister doesn’t like not knowing things. She thought that was over with Melanie being here. Now there’s this weird thing she’ll throw herself into, and now I have to go find Klaus.” Allison giggled.

I quickly said, “TJ, if you need help….” TJ interrupted, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know. You’ll all help me. I know that, but I can handle my twin.” He walked off with Allison and added, “Most of the time. I do it and you all never know.” Allison whispered, “I know.” My brother kissed the top of her head and said, “I know you do.” I couldn’t help but laugh.

I linked EJ, “We might need to keep an eye on Angela. She has a new project she’s throwing herself into.” EJ replied, “Alright, we can do that. I’ll have Elise keep an eye out too.” Mom handed Sierra an outfit and she went outside.

Wesley was standing near me. I said to him, “What are the odds that dress makes me want to forget Melanie’s party?” Wesley smirked saying, “Pretty high, big brother.” Tristan spokefrom behind me, “Here’s a suggestion, before saying something like that take a look around the room.”

Wesley and I busted up laughing. Wesley apologized, “Sorry, man. Talking about sex is normal for us. We are basically numb to it. Everyone talks about our parents sex lives. We’ve seen orgies and grew up around them. Sex is natural to us.”

Tristan snorted, “Well, I wasn’t. Please don’t talk about claiming my sister anymore.” I laughed, “I’ll try to only do it when you aren’t around.” Tristan snorted and walked over to Everly. My brother in law muttered, “It’s bad enough I already know they’ve had sex multiple times when I was around.”

Everly hugged him and said, “Your sister is a grown woman who is mated and married.” Tristan grumbled, “It’s weird. Before Melanie came home she was a teenager who liked to sneak into my room and do my school homework because it was more challenging. Or dance in the woods like no one was watching.” Everly said, “From what I heard she still does the dancing part.”

We all heard Sierra and Melanie talking outside. Mom motioned for everyone to be silent. My mouth went dry when Melanie walked out in a tight, sparkly short red dress. Damn Black Path and their stupid bullshit. If my mate had been able to have a birthday party in the last seven years, I could steal her away for several hours.

We all yelled surprise. Dylan bumped my arm saying, “I know that look. You can’t ferret MelAshley off for several hours. I have a goal! Drunk MelAshley SHALL appear.” Several people laughed. Dylan ran off and handed Melanie a drink.

My wife smiled at him and started to drink it. Melanie commented, “Hawaiian punch, nice.” Dylan didn’t correct her. Before I could Dylan linked me, “I have goals! Don’t spoil the fun. Be a Fairy for five seconds.”

I rolled my eyes because that wasn’t the right kind of fun. Melanie could get drunk all she wanted as long as she knew what was going on. I linked Melanie, “That does have alcohol in it.” Melanie winked at me and answered, “Well… it is my birthday.” I smiled at her.

My wife skipped over to me and gave me a kiss. Melanie pulled back to say, “I guess this beats the cupcakes I bought myself.” I kissed her forehead and attempted to block my anger from her. Melanie skipped back over to Sierra.

Gage said, “Think happy thoughts, Alexander.” Phil agreed, “Yeah, she’s here at a party.” Addison said, “We did try to do things for Mel’s birthday. She told us to stop when her presents were always destroyed.” I frowned and Sam’s jaw was clenched tight.

My mother in law said, “Excuse me.” She strode out of the house with Drake on her heels. I saw them go to the dungeons. I was guessing Stephanie McCann was about to have a very bad day. Not that any of hers were good by any means.

I asked Elise, “How’s the fake Melanie?” Elise frowned while EJ laughed. I asked, “What?” EJ explained, “It seems my mate inherited my ability of telekinesis. Fake Melanie is dead.” Elise huffed, “I didn’t mean to kill her. I wanted her to suffer longer.”

EJ teased, “The Beta’s riled you up.” Elise grumbled, “That bitch just kept saying it was just a job, but she was there that night Melanie was kidnapped. That’s why the Warriors saw her leave. Because they saw that imposter leave. I just wished that I could impale her with a knife. Right in the heart like she did to all of us.”

I laughed, “So I’m guessing the knife flew across the room into her heart. I would’ve healed her for you.” EJ said, “It was a screwdriver. The fake Melanie was very dead, on impact.” Elise sighed, “The only good thing was Edward, Jean, and Stephanie were jealous.” I commented, “I’ll bet.”

Melanie was drinking a lot of the Hawaiian punch and rum. Dylan was following my wife around and refilling her drink every time it was empty. Jason spoke from behind me, “I feel like Dylan is going to get his wish. I don’t know how this isn’t Drunk Melanie yet.”

Addison laughed, “Mel’s got a hell of an alcohol tolerance.” Dylan snorted and came over to us. He said, “Jase, didn’t anyone tell you? My wishes do come true. All the time in fact.” Dylan walked back over to Melanie with a full drink.

Hastein portaled in with Kingsley. My cousin’s mate laughed immediately when she spotted Melanie and put a present down. Kinglsey commented, “You’re in luck, H. We didn’t miss Drunk Melanie.” Hastein looked over at my mate and said, “I see that.”

Kingsley smirked, “You guys have no idea what you’ve done.” Dylan whispered, “I’ve done magical things you Pegasus, Ostrich, Loch Ness, Lava Monster, Panther.” Kingsley laughed. Melanie snickered and sang, “You are oh so very wrong.”

Dylan smiled, “Ahhhh, Drunk MelAshley. Tell me things.” Melanie laughed, “I’ll tell you plenty of things, but not about K. What else would you like to know?” Kingsley snorted. EJ said, “Dear god. Is this actually the secret to knowing what’s in Melanie’s head?” I was pretty sure it was.

Dylan cooed, “Dear sweet MelAshley, I want to know so many things. Let’s go with one that will make your mate’s eyebrow twitch.” Melanie tilted her head and asked, “Why would Xander’s eyebrow twitch?” Dylan snorted, “How hard did Lux try to get you into bed? He was quite put out when I brought Claire to them, via Wesley, and heard that you’d done the tango with no clothes on with the Moody Triplet.”

I snarled, “Are you serious right now, Dylan?!” Gage groaned, “Why, dear god, why is that the question?!” Phil sighed, “Because he doesn’t like us, Gage.” Dylan snorted, “You both hush.” Melanie rolled her eyes, “That’s a silly question.”

Avery asked, “Why?” Melanie answered, “Lux tries to get in every girl’s pants. He usually succeeds too. He never pushed me …. if that’s what you’re asking. Lux was always nice to me. He definitely flirted and told me he wanted to sleep with me.” EJ pleaded, “Please stop talking, Melanie.” Oden snarled in my head.

Melanie continued like EJ hadn’t said anything, “It wasn’t like he did a full court press or anything. Lux was very respectful. He’s the only guy I can say that of that flirted with me too. Though I don’t think most of it was flirting… when you think about it.” That made more than me growl.
