I linked Fowler, KJ, and Chason, “Go ahead and go home, I’ve got her.” They replied, “Yes, Alpha.” KJ added, “She’s taking it all pretty well and calmly. You’re welcome, because I told Esther to come talk to Melanie about the whole Charles situation. I’m sure advice about this issue was given too.”

I replied, “I really appreciate it, KJ.” KJ replied, “I’m glad that file your dad gave me is finally coming in handy.” I wished it had come in handy sooner, but I’d take what I could get. I heard them all leave. Melanie made some really good points about Cheyenne.

My former friend obviously didn’t need a tour. It actually amused me greatly how much Melanie seemed to know about Cheyenne. I knew my wife had a crush on me since she was little. Hearing that she kept tabs on people who liked me was somewhat adorable. Oden purred, “It is.”

Melanie pointed out people are nice when we are paying attention and the mates feel they should just deal with it. EJ and I were going to have to cut that off. I didn’t want any of the mates to feel badly or to deal with a rude person in our territory.

My mother did that with Cassandra for far too long. I was done with that attitude. It hurt my mother and I wouldn’t let people like Cheyenne hurt my family. No matter who they were they were to me in the past. They weren’t really my friends if they treated Melanie poorly.

Melanie asked questions about the fighting level I gave. I wished I had a better answer for my mate. I just didn’t know why I’d never gone full speed at Cheyenne. I didn’t take it easy on anyone. So why this woman?

Oden sighed, “I don’t know either.” Great. My wolf usually had the answers. Oden snorted, “At least you know that now, not that you listened to me before.” I snorted, “One thing. There was one thing I doubted you on. Lately, you’ve just been keeping secrets.”

Oden snorted, “I’m still holding onto that one thing. It’s going to be tossed out at random for the rest of eternity.” I shook my head thinking that was just great. I stared at my mate in surprise when she asked if I healed Cheyenne.

Did my wife really doubt how motivating not having sex was? Let alone the fact that I would never heal someone who charged my mate from behind. That was just never happening. I felt shame when Melanie said we shouldn’t let other people who weren’t family kiss any part of us.

Oden huffed, “Mate is right.” I knew she was. Because If Charles had kissed her cheek, I would’ve exploded his brains all over the walls. I hated that I let that happen. What I hated most was that it hurt Melanie when she was everything to me.

All I ever wanted was Melanie and I wanted her to know that. I picked her up and put her on my lap then possessively claimed her. I felt the earth reaching out to me and accepted it. I felt the magic all around.

Dad linked me teasingly, “So the talk went that well, did it?” He was practically laughing but he wouldn’t be when my momgot to him. EJ linked, “How? How are you having sex right now? You fucked up so badly.” I snorted.

EJ came back in the link to say, “You know what, I don’t care. Don’t answer me, Elise is in heat. I love you, little brother.” I didn’t bother to answer him. I heard happy howls ringing around the pack. Gage linked, “My dawg! You’ve got magical poetic skills that your silver tongue needs to teach me.” I snorted back at him.

Uncle Jackson linked, “First there was your father, now there is you.” I snorted again. Oden purred, “It does seem to be all you’re capable of doing.” I replied, “I’m busy pleasuring our mate so well the earth called out. Or she pleasured us so well it called out. Whichever the reason, I’m keeping it going.” Oden agreed, “Definitely do that.”

Dylan linked me, “I love you MMSGAP I do! Lacy and I are still here visiting. No matter what anyone says, you’re awesome!” I rolled my eyes now. Phil linked, “Glad this conversation went so well for you. Go you.” I snorted.

I made Melanie come over and over. Oden snickered at the shot of curiosity and pleasure that shot through her when I mentioned punishing her. My wife was going to push me at some point to do just that. Mostly because she was a curious person who liked answers.

We spent hours outside. Oden linked me, “Freya thinks it’s funny we released magic.” I told him, “Well as long as she likes it. Because if we fuck outside again and the Sky or Earth calls, I’ll release it again.” Oden laughed in our connection, but I could tell he agreed with me.

I popped us to our room, but Melanie had already passed out. I got a wash rag and cleaned us both up before crawling into bed next to her. I was pleasantly surprised when I woke up with my mate in bed. My wife took advantage of that fact before I could, and I gladly let her take control.

Eventually, I took over and before I knew it was well after noon. Melanie wanted to go downstairs. No one was going to be around. This pack was probably like a sparse ghost town. My parents did this often enough that there was a plan in place. I knew unmated Warriors were running border patrols.

Elise and EJ had done it a few times as well. Hell, even Buttercup and Wesley had. Cassie and Cayden had done it in the Hackura realm, but not here yet. The best one might have been Micah and Max, but that had also been in the Hackura realm.

Which was the highlight for everyone there. The orgie lasted for days. Then they had a party for Max and Micah. Cayden and Cassie got a party in the Capitol too. Maybe I could get Melanie a party there too. Oden agreed, “Yes, mate deserves a party in the Hackura realm.” I would have to release magic there at some point then.

I actually woke up before Melanie the next day and regretfully went to the office. I got to work and waited for EJ to show up. I looked up when he did. I said, “Well, you look prouder than a peacock.” My big brother winked, “Elise is pregnant with twins. We just told mom and dad.”

I snorted, “You mean you told dad because mom knew the second she saw Elise.” EJ laughed, “That is the thing with this family. Pregnancy is never a secret, but we never tell anyone what we know because mom is all about not telling until the woman wants to.”

We didn’t know for sure why that was, but something told me it was about her first pregnancy with us. EJ told me, “Elise was going to thank Melanie.” I snorted, “I’m sure that will confuse my wife for a solid minute.”

Mom came in and grabbed me demanding, “Come see everything for Melanie’s party.” I laughed, “It’s already done?” Mom explained, “I was waiting for Melanie to leave the house.Thank god she goes for runs all the time so I don’t have to create a diversion.”

I walked into a literal sea of red. There were red balloons everywhere, a red cake, and a red drink fountain. I asked, “What’s the drink?” My mom answered, “That one is vodka and cranberry. The other one is Hawaiian punch with Strawberry Cruzan Rum.”

I laughed saying, “This is perfect, mom. Thank you.” Mom smiled, “Well, google said twenty-one is a big birthday here when I planned your party.” I admitted, “That’s because it’s the legal drinking age for humans.”

Mom shrugged, “I see. It’s a big deal because you could legally go get a drink somewhere. I will never understand this realm. You can incur massive amounts of debt at eighteen, become a parent, join the army, choose your profession for the rest of your fucking life well before turning twenty-one.”

“You can even drive a car at sixteen all by your damn self. But Alcohol? That’s what this realm has decided you need to be twenty-one for. At least in this country, because I do know it’s a different age elsewhere. It’s fucking insane. Go to war but you can’t have a drink.” Mom snorted and walked off while I couldn't help but laugh. Elise said, “Haley has a point.” I replied, “Mom often does.”

The guests were popped in. Melanie’s family was all here. I looked around spotting the Daniels group and noted a missing member. I asked, “Where’s Keaton?” Keith actually turned and walked away. EJ linked, “That was weird.”
